Shardul is not a part time bowler , which Pandya is. Yes, shardul is a mediocre bowler but miles ahead of pandya.

He isn't excellent in any department but good enough as a package. Even the great aussies of the noughties used Harvey and Bichel for this role, we can also keep Shardul for a similar role. He is a good bowler, handy lower order bat and fierce in attitude. Even with his stocky build, he gives everything in the field. India now has too many options. A good headache to have!

I love the grit, tenacity. I believe we will win the test championship. I do believe we will win T20 World cup because of Thakur.

Vijy Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Pinch hitter is an insult to his batting ability. if one removes his debut test - where he was injured and played virtually no role - then he has made 3 50s in 3 tests (his debut test excluded). that's a proper batsman-type contribution. express bowling 1
