Pant scored 150+ in australia at SCG and we were on track to win that match but weather conditions forced the play to be abandoned otherwise we would have won that match.

Pant already has two fifties in t20s dhoni has two in 90+ matches so 

Shardul thakur has lost us many matches infact in every other march he gets shredded to pieces ,yes hes a utility player but navdeep saini is a better bowler anyday.

Ms dhoni has played 90+ t20s 90+.. and he has just two half centuries ,,,guess the bar isnt set that high .

A lower middle order t20 batsman doesnt get much time to play impactful innings.

it shows how illiterate you are ..you say shardul has lost us many matches..do u even know how many matches shardul has played overall..he has played 8 odis and 14 t20s.. .out of these 14 t20s, 1 was washed out..so he has effectively played 13 t20 s.. he has taken 21 wickets.. OUT OF THESE 13 MATCHES WHERE SHARDUL PLAYED INDIA HAS LOST ONLY 2 (one in centurion -dew, chahal thrashed and Heinrich Klasses masterclass and another one against sri lanka in colombo)..so this clearly proves  you dont know what cricket is or you are on dope

Pant has nothing to complain, he has been given free run in odis and t20s.Unfortunately for him he is suited more for opening role than a middle order.As we have seen time and again he is unable to rotate strike freely.

 

In ideal world I would want Pant to open along with Rahul.Kohli and Rohit can switch around places as per situation.

Most disappointing is that they removed him from tests, where he was excelling.  While it made sense to bring in Saha for his keeping brilliance, Pant should've played as a batsman.  My 2 naye paise.

In all those 13 matches which he played and India won you think won by him. If you think a single player can won a match, than nz would have never lost the 3rd t20 where Williamson played inning of his lifetime not just in first 20 overs even in superover. Coming to pant no harm to bench him but question is y to select him at first place if TM thinks he is not good enough for this t20 side. Why keep him in the squad and criticize every other day in media.

Babar Azam is fully comfortable against swing and seam  ,kohli is not that comfortable but he can fight as he showed in SA  and ENG tours .

Even in world cup rahul played well on flat tracks but looked like a deer caught in headlights as soon as there was something in the pitch. 

I am not fully sold on rahul , i still think that he needs super flat pitch to score runs.

People are being over-dramatic here. Pant is from Delhi, and there was never a threat to his place under Kohli. It's just at the moment his ass is under fire, and so he is forced to choose other players. We will go back to square one after winning couple of bilateral series.

How good Pant is or is not ... I am not sure now. 

 

But a few things look very strange.

 

1. Why is Pant being criticized time and again in public by members of TM. ?  Why not talk to him in private if he does things wrong  ?

 

2.  After really good showings in tests in SENA, why was he dropped in tests in India ?  Saha is a very good keeper but he is already 35 and is getting injured time and again. It was better to give a young keeper, on a high in test matches,  the experience of keeping in India.

 

3.  This point is important regarding every young player ... why are they being dropped after good performances ?  Like Saini dropped from T20Is after MoS in last series.  Kuldeep dropped from tests after 5 fer  in Australia.  Nair playing just 2 tests after his 300+ score.  

 

To get the most out of young players, they must be made to feel secure and comfortable. Is it happening regarding young players now ?

for T20 matches, KLR keeping is not a bad idea. Pant seems to have more mental clarity in tests than in ODIs and T20s for the moment (this is mostly because of bad management and communication from TM). As of now, I would rather have: Hitman, Shaw, KLR (wk), Kohli, Iyer, Hardik, X, Gopal, Saini, Shami, Bumrah. at no. 7, we need a person X who can bowl about 3 overs of spin and score at 150+. this team will have 6 bowling options, and bat till 8.

Let's not forget Saha is pretty mediocre with the bat especially when playing abroad. Kohli has a problem with any young talent coming in. Let's not forget how even KL Rahul was treated by the same management.
