and still they haven't run away with the game.

Yet.  And arguably they trashed us for 100-125 runs short of par with Boult paired with an inconsistent Southee and an unproven debutant.

Like I said, there's still a chance we can come back, and I hope we do.  But since I started the test match with positive expectations, which were murdered by the careless mistakes of the top order, its hard to be overly optimistic at this point.

if we get through the first 10-15 overs without much damage we can pile on the misery.

This, as usual, is the biggest determinant of the fate of Indian away test series.  Especially now that we have a bowling 'attack' that's not just theoretical.

Pant sacrificed his wkt for Rahane! Read the thread - “what is wrong with Rahane?”

I used to Open the batting for my CLUB and my Corporate company and I was 42 playing ..i had a partner who was 31. i used to run a second run when it was dead sure that a second run existed. he always used to push for a second run even when it was risky.

i had a clear mind Not to go for a risky run and trusted my hitting capability to get 4's when i went for SHOTS.

So i had to sit out with him and make him understand that LETS not risk and get risky runs and my thought process is not to take risks- then he realised and spoke bad about me that i am not a good runner but still we did not run each other out.

to get run out in a TEST is MOST foolish thing to happen...as even the fielders are not trying to run the batsman OUT. who ever was at mistake, I watched the highlight only so i am not sure but rishabh had an opportunity to score a 50 + score at least.

Read the thread which is on that run out ....

NZ will make atleast 340. Their tail is miles better than ours plus there is only one bowler they have to be content with. India 140 -3

Yes their tail is decent, and kiwis always scrap.  Add to this, India have a  loyal tradition of giving debutants a good chunk of runs - and Jamieson started out as a specialist batsman a la Ashwin. And he's what #9?

It aint gonna be easy, but lets hope the bowlers are able to bend their backs, and find a bit of luck. Bumrah and Shami have to step up.

We will get one early wicket tomorrow but then a frustrating partnership - that giant Jamieson will give us more pain in this series, am afraid, a la Sam curran? NZ end with 300-350. This pitch has eased out but I am not sure it will ever be a featherbed, even today the odd one did something funny against run of play (Taylor's dismissal for eg.), Ashwin got enough turn to keep patel also interested (hope he doesn't follow in footsteps of Moeen bhaijaan ). So we will end up at 150-4 with Pujara and Vihari holding fort.

I overestimated our team ;)

Ummm I never expect anything when Bewda is involved. Then something positive and unexpected happens, it is a bonus. I think this chewtiya team led by Chokohli has run its course with the series win in Aus minus a Warner and Smith. Time to start sucking again.

Dont rule out this game ending inside 3 days.

India have form of being rolled in the 2nd innings in SENA conditions.

Predictable Indian cricket at its pure finest. This is a joy to watch. When will Team India learn to not build teams at home instead of gifting average players a place in the side.

Prety close :((

Let the second part of your prediction become true before you put that :(( icon. I will be happy that Bewda will get some ruffing up by BCCI due to this. Otherwise, we keep hearing his OTT rants that this is the best touring side of India for eternity.

New Zealand 300 ALL OUT...

India 200 for 3....Mayank Aggarwal , Vihari and Virat will top score. Prithvi will fail...he is not good against swing and even bounce would be hard for him to manage. Pujara would play slow and finally fall. Rahane could also score and Rishabh has a lot of talent but what do i say about a batsman's mind if he gets RUN OUT in a TEST Match ( in a situation when no one is looking to take risky singles).

India May Loose this TEST Match( why: Our Pacers are not looking in genuine fast bowling form and ashwin is turning the ball but if the pitch does not deteriorate and he fails in second innings , we have no chance).

I apologise for giving a Negative response ( for a change). i will be happiest if i am proved wrong.

i had predicted Prithvi will fail and had said "Pujara wud play slow and finally fall". Both are true.

i predicted mayank virat and vihari will score....Mayank is scoring well..

rahane could score a lil  as his technique is good but he does not score in two innings regularly and rishabh will fail again( he has a disturbed mind- not clear ).

i said newzealand will score 300 at least..they made 348

i said INDIA will Loose..hope that prediction does not come true.
