Gollum
Quote In 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad overcame the odds to win three games in a matter of five days to clinch the title. Almost four and a half years later, they are tasked with a similar challenge. But this one won't guarantee them the title. This won't even guarantee them a playoff spot but if they do manage to win all three of their remaining games over the next 7 days, they will remain in the hunt to reach the last four. For a team that has won only four games this season, losing seven, it's a massive challenge. What makes it even harder is that those games are against the top three sides of the competition - Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Is it really an impossible task though? Kings XI Punjab will shrug off such suggestions. They came back from the dead and boosted their own chances by pulling off exactly the same. So SRH can definitely afford to take inspiration from KXIP's turnaround. And among those three teams, DC stand in SRH's path first up. DC find themselves in the midst of a jittery run, having lost their last two games, so SRH would want to believe they are probably facing them at the right time. But Ricky Ponting knows that losing cannot become a habit now especially at the fag end of the tournament. They do have a concern right at the top of the order that they will look to address. While Shikhar Dhawan's transformation has given them a boost, runs aren't being scored at the other end. Prithvi Shaw is going through a lean run and Ajinkya Rahane hasn't clicked at all so far. Rishabh Pant too hasn't been his usual destructive-self this season, with an alarming drop in the strike rate compared to the last two years. If he can find some form on Tuesday (October 27), DC will be well served going ahead.SRH's issues lie predominantly in the batting department as well. Runs are starting to dry up from Jonny Bairstow's bat and David Warner hasn't been at his marauding best this season. Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar have shown some encouraging signs and Jason Holder's entry should provide more assurance in that middle order. But they certainly cannot afford another collapse like the one they had in their most recent encounter against KXIP. DC's bowling lineup is a lot stronger which puts a lot of onus on the top 4 to deliver. When: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals, Match 47, IPL 2020, 18:00 local time, 19:30 ISTWhere: Dubai International cricket stadiumWhat to expect: The pitches have slowed down in Dubai considerably as witnessed in the recent games. Both teams would be inclined to bat first on this surface. SRH in particular would want that after the failure to chase down a moderate total last time.Team NewsSunrisers HyderabadThere is a case for SRH to strengthen their lower order by bringing back Abhishek Sharma or even hand a debut to Virat Singh in place of Abdul Samad. Vijay Shankar's bowling form gives them that luxury.Probable XI: David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Jason Holder, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma/Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan Delhi CapitalsWith their spot in the playoffs still not secure, DC will be tempted to play their full strength eleven. It will be interesting to see if Tushar Deshpande manages to retain his place in the XI.Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tushar Deshpande Both camps jittery after recent performances, rattled. Desperately need a win...... Every side (and associated fanbase) will be watching this match closely since 7 teams still in contention and this result will affect each one of them. Except panther of course, can only play spoilsport henceforth....like it did to Bewdas on Sunday!!! zen
Supporting the underdog or should I say underbird It may have a final fight left, a last song to sing, a culminating desire to be in the spotlight .... and what better team to do it against than its mirror image with good bowling (for slow pitches) but struggling batting Warner & Bairstow have been on & off, maybe they can string a happy p'ship for their team .... maybe Pandey, Shankar, Garg & Samad can taste some fine wine .... maybe Holder can swing to the tunes of Caribbean Calypso .... and maybe my buddy @maniac will shred his bitterness and and be happy even when SDP performs And @Global.Baba finally admit, he is a birds fan: coffee_rules, maniac, Mariyam and 4 others 1
coffee_rules
SRH will be eliminated tomorrow. They are not a team in UAE. Warner is still struggling and they only have Trundlers and Holder and Vijay Shankar.

Stan AF
Kiwi Williamson facing throw downs. Shreyas Iyer reckons the pitch is dry and that dew will come in later. Says his team is motivated in the race for the two. They're playing the same XI. David Warner said he was looking to bat first. Williamson is in for Jonny Bairstow, Wriddhiman Saha for Priyam Garg, and Nadeem replaces Khaleel. Edited October 27, 2020 by Stan AF
