Samson is getting criticized by sony commentators

As predicted, Samson is getting criticized right now. When Kohli is tuk tuking, somebody has to hit out even off of good balls. Samson did what was necessary both in this game and the previous game. Kohli and Dhawan get praised but Samson doesnt get any credit

If they were honest, they would have also shown how terrible Kohli has been in away T20Is in the last couple of years.

These guys look for stats, so basically they wanted Sanju to play selfish 40 to seal a spot in the team rather than going for win.

Why would they speak against Kohli and risk tearing up their meal ticket. Bhogle and Manju both can both vouch for the misery of being on timeout in the dog house. I wish both of them had been permanently booted out, but that's a topic for another discussion.

Wade has a lowly average, a strike rate about 115 but the Aussies picked him on potential even though he is 33 years old. Look how well he played for them today! T20 is about living in the moment and handling the crucial moments well but our stats obsessed kachra jokers never get that.

Wait till you listen what Star sports guys do..  Super Vvvvvvv,  Gabbar & Rohitman & that's it.  Fact is Indian analyst are pi's* poor & only sensible voice when it comes to T20 is of Gambhir.  Agarkar is also decent..  In com box he wanted Kohli to go big when RR was touching 12 RPO.  Murli was silent.

Sorry but i dont agree with anyone here. 

Sanju Samson should be criticised, he looks so good whenever he comes to bat but throws it away playing a senseless shot. 

 

As someone said  "A failed man with talent is the most common thing."

 

I am afraid that if Sanju Samson continues to play the way he has uptil now he will fit into the above described category. 

 

Now before posters tell me that he was playing as per the situation i would say that the aim of a batsman is to bat according to the situation and avoid getting out. Even Manish Pandey can whack a six if he doesn't put a price on his wkt 

 

Its not just about this match though, his list A career along with his ipl career tell us the same story, he has always been inconsistent both in domestics and international. 

 

Although i think he should be given more chances but his criticism is justified and there should be no doubt about it. 

 

If we continue selecting players on talent without paying any heed to temperament we will lose each and every series and then the same fans will hold the team management responsible.

Dude were you watching the game. The asking rate was 11/12. What do you expect him to do when kuptaan saab is playing tuk tuk. In the end, it will appear like Kohil scored brilliantly with 40 off 25 but he was playing like middle overs in an ODI when Samson was there. Taking singles and upping the RRR. Samson took risk from ball one and scored 15 from 10. I would say his option to play that shot was forced by his senior teammates. He did what the top order should have done.

That's probably why successful ex-cricketers won't sign up for commentary because their livelihood doesn't depend on commentary while Harsha's and Manju's does

The only ones being obtuse are blind Kohli fans. Sanju had to go for shots after Kohli-Dhawan had sucked all momentum out of the innings. He got out trying to play shots when RRR was 11+ after Kohli-Dhawan added 40 runs in 6 overs in such a big chase. Someone had to take risks and like always, it was the younger player.

 

If a youngsters starts with a 10(12) type of innings like the seniors do, this TM will throw him out of the team next match. That's how pathetic these jokers are.

Samson did enough, this guy needs to be India no.4 in T20s and ODIs

 

Provided momentum and never wasted balls.

Less said about the old guard the better.

If you were watching today's game you would have noticed that Samson played a horrible shot when he was on zero and the only reason he wasn't dismissed is bcoz Smith didn't see the ball. So Kohli has got nothing to do with Samson's failure.

He plays senseless shots even when he is in touch. His whole career is a testament to the fact that he is horribly inconsistent, how many times will you blame his partners. 

 

I was watching the game and Kohli was playing in the same way which helped him win 2 t20 man of the tournaments Nd even today he ended with 40(24) at 170 str rate. 

Kohli's batting has a pattern which has made him successful. The fact is that you can't blame Kohli here.

If a youngster starts with 10(12) and ends with 40(24) no one will blame him and you know that.

I'm so glad Pandya never listened to these fools and kept true to his natural instincts.. so many talented players are ruined because of these scorecard merchants

 

These "analysts" and "experts" have been on his case in last 3-4 yrs constantly asking him to show aggregate runs and averages while ignoring his strike rate calling him poor player. It would have been so easy to take the easy route and score a few selfish fifties and increase his aggregate.. he didn't take the option and focused on improving his big hits and it has finally paid off. We need more self confident batsmen like him. Hope he talks with sanju and guide him in similar path

When Kohli walked into bat RRR was 9.6, when he got out the RRR was 13.2, that was his contribution in today's match  His so called batting pattern worked till 2016-17. You need better observation skills if you can't see all this.

 

On Samson, Most young players take time to settle in international cricket. You don't judge them after 5-6 T20Is, that too after being shunted up and down the order nearly every match. BTW do compare how Kohli was a failure in his initial 5-6 T20Is and how strongly he was backed by the TM.
