While sky can be the limit, what are your realistic minimum expectations from Team Ind in Tests in Aus 2020?

As for me, draw at least a test esp. at Melbourne or Sydney. Both venues can be good for batting w/ support for spin as well. If Ind cannot push for a win, at least draw a game.

mine are low expectations , we aint winning it ....if we give a fight ill be happy

  • have a feeling rahane will do well , also ashwin
  • But ill be happy if we get few youngsters coming out as performers like Rat was the biggest positive in 2011-12 tour down under

Its interesting that after the NZ series and overseas countries in general, a lot on here have not learnt.

My min expectations is that for India to remain competitive for every Test. I can handle losing 4-0 as long as there is fight in every match. They push and push Australia to their limit. I would be happy for this. Not if they roll over for the entire series.

I will stand by what I originally thought, Australia will win this series 4-0 and some of the games will NOT go into Day 5.

The highest expectation I have for India, is that they win a Test. That would be a great achievement. Even drawing one, deserves credit too.

Realistically this is what is most likely to happen. But the point is, it should not be that way. A top ranked team losing like a minnow is like charging for a flight ticket and giving a second class railway ticket instead. With all the money and resources available to the BCCI,  pretty much every SENA series is a disaster. The same mistakes are repeated and no lessons are ever learnt. It's always more of the same, and even avid cricket lovers have already lowered their expectations to the lowest levels. Very sad!

I would like to see some players dropped for the England series, irrespective of their form being good in this series, which is also very unlikely.

Players like Rahane, Saha, Pujara must make way for debutants so that they get to play in winning series at home and to give them that confidence in playing away.

Gill making his debut in Australia is absolulely pathetic by the BCCI. He should have had the luxuxry of home series to have had a good start to his Test career.

That meme from film Newton came to my mind

My expectation is things will pan out the same way as in 2011-12. Ind will take some early wickets aur fir dhulai hogi courtesy Steven Smith and thereafter some late order revivals forcing fans to pull their hair.

Minimum expectation is just not get whitewashed on the tour.

More or less this.

I'm just gonna enjoy this test series. I have no expectations. I have learnt my lessons from last NZ tour :phehe: On paper, we have the ability to win this series. But its how we tackle Smith and co in their own backyard will determine the series.

That happens in every series down under regarless of the touring team. Before Smith, it was Clarke and before him it was Ponting and Waugh. The kookaburra ball only swings for an hour or so. After that its a good time to bat. Its a tough grind but we should be prepared with in and out field and a good spinner is handy. I'm not in favor of 4 fast men. When things dont go your way, picking 4 pacers will look very dumb. We are not the windies and this is not the 80s which featured smaller bats and juicier pitches.

No expectation. Just hope rookies  like Shaw, Gill, Saini, Siraj, Pant, Vihari, Kuldeep get battle tested. Use this as a stepping stone for the Eng tour in Aug.

We won the last series there.

Warner and Smith will make this series tougher than last time, but India is ranked in top 3 in test format.

The best have been selected in the squad and most likely the best 11 will represent in matches.

I expect at least a draw. Nothing less than that given recent history and our test form as well as quality of batsmen and bowlers. We have some test quality superstars who have given lot of great test performances either with bat or ball.

Fight it baccha party.

I have high expectations. Just coz Rahane is captaining & I expect him to be lucky with Tosses just like in practice games.  Warner is out for I guess 2 tests & I think we have a shot to at least draw the Test series.

Hoping Bumrah to find his groove finally then anything can happen.  Just play fearless cricket & go all guns blazing with the bat:rock:
