The Australians seem so eager to play Green and Pucovski. (  It is a different thing that they may be out with injury )

Our TM are so eager to not give Gill and Pant any chances.

Tim Paine hinted at Burns & Wade opening.  Left right combo perhaps.  Harris is likely to be benched.  Green set to debut.

Pucovski is out with a concussion but they will play Green.

One just chooses the potentially exceptional players as a matter of priority, but not this TM.

A young Kohli would have played 25 tests less if he had debuted under current captain Kohli.

Shaw scored a 50 in 2nd Test in NZ.  So it is still justified they are backing him.  But Pant in Test cricket has done well.  Why are they picking ageing Saha here?  I guess they're not sure about Pant's fitness & how well he'd do with gloves in a Pink ball Test with ball moving around.  No other reason comes to mind while benching him.

An unfit Pant will still be twice times more agile than an injury prone Saha.

Had said in one of the thread, this TM prefers meek youngsters and will do everything to derail confident young players who have a mind of their own. Gill, Pant, Kuldeep, Siraj, Saini (add SKY and Ishan as well) all can will have to wait for this pathetic TM to be fired to have a proper international career.

Gill I can understand as he will get his chances once Kohli leaves. Plus Shaw is also a youngster with potential (although I doubt he will be successful in SENA with that open technique) but Pant's exclusion is unjustified. Saha is not even 50% of the batsman Pant is away from home.

I fear this constant discrimination against Pant might hurt and cause irreparable damage to his confidence going forward.

Playing 11 is exactly as I expected, including the disappointments.

Hoping that Gill will replace Kohli from the 2nd test. They probably want to play him in the middle order only.

Pant not playing is a big disappointment.

I agree no left handed batsmen.. easy peasy for Australians.

Pant not being selected is the big disappointment. Shaw is fine. Gill is selected as an opener so only of them can play.

We already have many threads about not giving enough chances to new players, so shaw should get 2 more tests here.

Saha ahead of pant is horsesheeeet.

Last chance saloon for Shaw now. Two tests and you flop you are out of all teams. Rohit will be back and india career will be effectively over for at least 2 yrs for Shaw as he flopped badly in ipl too.. in England home series we will have rohit mayank and Rahul opener in waiting

You guys...chill. Loli knows the match is fixed for his ego. He will go back to India with a daddy double century and a draw/win. The remaining tests, we will lose badly. Kohli can then use his PR to finish hahane and players he doesn't like.

We needed couple of rising players this series to bail us out.. Gill and Pant were the best candidates. Clean sweep defeat on the cards baring injuries to key aussie players.

Why are people so shocked? This is the team almost what most of us called.

In fact the only difference from the team I picked is Shaw for Gill and I don’t mind that. as I said before in pink ball test, Shaws fearless starts might help.

Also think Shaw transforming  into a uncle lately  is helping him get him more chances with this TM who have a hard on for experienced and mature players
