We have dominated the entire test series so far except the 36 all out part

Ind has played almost at its best, while Aus has been scratchy esp. wrt batting and catches dropped (normally, they gobble up chances)

With Warner expected to return, the series will get more interesting esp. if Aus starts playing its best cricket

More like the opposite.

India dropped plenty of catches that allowed Aussies to get back into the game in the first.

Then in the second game runout and 2 lbws din't go India's away due to faulty drs.

Guju going to guju ofcourse.

We dominated WC but for 15mins. All are excuse, it takes special talent to get ao for 36.

No. It takes 0 planning and strategy to get all out for 36. It takes a wrong start to get all out for 36. Prithvi Shaw was the initiator for the downfall. And it was the clueless captain who despite knowing the flaws, chose such an opener.

There has to be a readiness and flexibility to have plan b for any situation. India didnt seem to have a plan a either. The captain and the coach has to take the fall here.

Actually, both are facts.

We are dominating big series / tournaments and suffering because of abysmal performances for short periods.

We should take heart from the dominance  ... and plan against despicable batting crashes.

Kindly avoid this kind of talk especially when it comes to fellow posters (IPL subforum has more leeway when it comes to these things).

You're a new poster sure, counter the points others make if you disagree with them, or you can use the ignore feature.

If it's a fact, it's becoming all too common a fact. Happened in england test series, World Cup and now here. The problem is the lack of corrective action. Bowling has been setting up matches only for the batting to fail and we are historically a batting nation. It's a bit alarming to be honest.

premature thread. I won't believe it until we win 3-1 at oz fortress Gabba. We have holes too. Our main batsman is taking leave, top order hasnt fired, more importantly Pujara hasnt scored his typical 100 from 400 balls, 5-6 spots are shaky, even Rahane benefited from drop catches, tailenders not frustrating Aussies like their counterparts to us, revloving door of bowlers. Only thing that is good so far is our bowlers and their backups and the weakness in Aus batting. Warner and Puc maybe replacing the openers and Wade will slide down to 5 where he is more dangerous not to mention their bowling attack. It won't be easy but not counting us out. It will be an interesting series no matter whether we win or not.

Edit; 36 ao will forever remain a stain on our cricketing history. We can no longer laugh at Pak and Ban for their low scores. It can only be salvaged by our crushing victory 3-1 RIGHT NOW on their home soil and their favorite ground

I will celebrate when it's not another isolated test we reminisce over but a series win.

This is not a celebratory thread.

One of the big reasons for not winning  big test series abroad is ... not believing that we can do it.  Focusing on the negatives and being overwhelmed by them.

Both players as well as fans feel it.

We have loads of chinks in our batting and fielding. Even 3 of our top 4 pacers are out with injury.

But despite that we have mostly dominated in this test series.

I want us to feel the positives too ... and not lose unless and until we actually lose.

Plugging the gaps and rectifying the chinks is as important too ... I wrote about that aspect in another thread  " Lack of Planning etc. "

could you stop with this silliness please.  Argue and disagree all you want.  Banter and even insult a bit.  But leave ignorant ethnic slurs out of it.

I don't think Umesh Yadav is that good a bowler, but his injury does put another ? into our starting XI.  If he wasn't injured, and given Siraj's decent debut, I would feel quite comfortable about our series win chances.  Carrying yet another inexperienced weak link in the bowling attack gives a huge boost to Aus chances.

But its still India's series to lose at this point.

Warner and Puc improves the opening slots. And if they start well we could be battling against scores substantially larger than the sub 200 scores in the previous 2 tests. Also Smith could easily come good. So, we will have our work cut out. Also, I hope the team just doesn’t feel content with this test win and fights hard to win the entire series.

Need some dogged batting in the top order. Gill is free-flowing run maker, but too much to expect him to stick around. In I1, he had a charmed life with 2 lives. Mayank has to step up, will give him another chance. No point in getting Rohit and asking him to be 12th man. So, he has to get in at the cost of Vihari. Dropping mayank for Rohit will be detrimental to India, he can't fly in and open the batting. KL gets to sit out and wait for somebody to trip and fall during friendly football games, he has to pay somebody to do that to Mayank or Gill.

While I completely agree that Shaw should not have played there but he was not part of the collpase, it happened next day. Noway you can blame that collpase on Shaw.

can you elaborate on that?

Gandhiji expecting lashings from a foreign power , will end up appreciating a neutral game and become a zen. :dontknow: what he meant. But I am :fear:ing a appreciation of Aus fightback from you

Talking about cricket, I will appreciate any team (Ind or Aus) that does well .... Why would my praise be restricted to one team?  :dontknow:

What are you talking about? He was the opener, how many runs did he score in both innings?
