Good to see Saini there putting rest to all media speculations of Nattu or Shardul.

 

Tough on Mayank though. Rohit will have to justify his place and score runs, no other option for him.

Good to see TM persisting with Vihari, he must justify the faith. 

 

Relief that Saini is playing. No disrespect to Shardul/Nattu but they simply don't have the tools to succeed in test cricket in Aus. 

 

Rohit is a forced selection now that he is VC, but must say Rahane has been sensible with team selection unlike Kohli.

Even though it may have been a bit unfair....

I would have played Mayank in the middle order to tackle Lyon as it will be a typical SCG patta and the offspinner will likely bowl a lot of overs. Vihari hasn't looked comfortable at all against Lyon.

Not much hope from Rohit..  But let's see.  He should bat the way he batted at home vs SA.  A quick 30-40 from him would be more than handy.

Fine with this team. I am not worried much for Mayank Aggarwal. He has some technical issues and needs some time to sort them out. Rohit anyways is a not a huge upgrade on him in tests. Its 60/40 in favour of Rohit's failure. If it is so, Mayank will definitely comeback sooner or later and that would be the end of Rohit's test career.

I thibk weird decisions only happen when Kohli is there. Otherwise the selections have been spot on
