TNAmarkFromIndia
Took his 300th Test wicket in his 98th Test. 32 years old right now. Can he go past Kapil Dev and reach the 500-wicket mark? Can he keep up his good form for long enough to prevent upcoming young pacers from taking his place in the team? Link to comment

No, he isn't good enough to get to 500 - simple as that. The ones getting there were true ATG pacers & yeah sadly Steyn missed out. Link to comment

If he plays for another 6-7 years, he could. Doesn't play ODIs anyway. Could concentrate on just Tests and keeping himself fit for it. Link to comment
ShebbySB
He will play at least 3 more years of Test cricket so reaching the 400 club is a possibility. Link to comment
Bigg Brother
Got his 200th in 2015. Almost 6 yrs for 100 wickets taken. He wont even reach to 400..Will finish at 340-350 at best. Link to comment

Real McCoy
sure India will be poorer as a test nation if that actually happens. sage and express bowling 1 1 Link to comment
putrevus
I really hope not , Ishant should not play every home test either. He is not really a wicket taker , so giving a guy a Siraj a chance to prove his worth is not a bad option. Rotating between all pacers at home is not a bad idea, so everybody is rested and fresh when they play the matches. Link to comment
nevada
I doubt it. 350 itself might be a challenge. Link to comment

maniac
450 guaranteed. Rest is a bonus. 150 wickets in 3-4 years with games at home vs weaker teams absolute possibility. Throw in a few d/n- pink ball tests in where Ishant will be lethal. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment

There is a reason why I call him the Rohit of bowling. A mercurial match winner who may have some lean patches but when he wins it,he wins it. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment
maniac
The VVS Laxman of bowling. Gritty, skillful, inconsistent, some loopholes in stats but a match winner Link to comment
dilliboy
400 at best.. He'll need to play at least 25 more tests for that Link to comment
Clarke
Would be incredible if he gets to 400 in my opinion, being an early starter & a fast bowling workhorse could take a toll on his longevity especially in our conditions. Link to comment
The Realist
Zero chance. He's a water carrier. Can bowl economical spells and take the odd wicket but does not have the ability to run through sides. Link to comment

mancalledsting
His early career was ruined by over bowling him in ODIs, t20s early on and placing too much expectation on him followed WACA spell to Ponting. Then there was MSD’s test captaincy. Had he walked into a today type set up from day 1 I’m sure he’d be closely player to McGrath India ever produced (although not as good as that guy) Link to comment
