Vk1 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 the way he is batting.. its a pity that he is a wicket keeper.. if he wasnt he would probably be batting in top 4.. what position is ideal for him? nbr 6 seems to be a decent position but for his talent he needs to bat with proper batsman for most of the time. Imo he should be tried in the opening slot but with Gill and Rohit looking good and settled for now its better not to replace them. We have to seriously think about his position as its ridiculous to waste his talent at 6.

Serpico Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 6 is better for him. You need a fifth gear when batting with tail to maximize the runs and he is best suited for that role. None of our top order bats can do that as effectively as him. However he needs to learn how to farm his strike when batting with tail

Pant getting more used to that slot. But India definitely needs another option for opening slot, may be one of Shaw/Kishan/Padikkal
