The POMS are whinging

Recommended Posts

As usual, POMS are whinging about the pitch as usual. I hope Rohit and Pujar is gonna bat big and score heavily.

Aussies supporting the POMS, it seems beating by India has hurt them.

Whats irritating is Sanjay Manjrekar is fully supporting them and claiming it is a bad pitch.

well thats why you prepare neutral pitches and beat them on those. To take away all excuses for whinging.

Either you grow extremely thick skin, keep churning out dust bowls and ignore what critics say or create neutral pitches and stop the whinging. Our fans however want dustbowls but also want everyone to shutup about them

Who is the judge of neutral pitches? What's a neutral pitch anyway?

Were recent pitches in Lanka neutral as per definition of neutral pitches?

In India, neutral pitches are roads which wont get us results. If the pitch disintegrates gradually, how can we call that a neutral pitch? This means whoever batted first will have huge advantage.

This pitch is better than first pitch though match will be over in 4 days because it gives bowlers a chance from the very first day unlike last pitch where nothing happened for first 3 days.  I am pretty sure, India would've won even if we had lost the toss, because our spin bowling is much superior compared to Poms.

not true. a neutral pitch is the one that can last 5 day match but also offers bowlers some purchase from day 1. What we saw in first match wasn't neutral either as it was too flat on first two days.

The pitch in today's match simply does not last 5 days. Even if two indian teams play on this pitch, match will still be over within 4 days

Let's be honest here, this pitch is a shocker, For all the hooplah around being the richest cricket board in the world, we dish out such a horrendous pitch to the visitors, if BCCI can't invest in making decent stadiums and pitches then all that IPL money is of no use here.  This is simply in poor taste and not acceptable if you are a genuine lover of the sport.

What's exactly so shocking about the pitch?  Genuine question.

England and New Zealand have been dishing out green wickets where matches finish within 3 days. Even dibbly dobblers like Colin de Grandhome look like McGrath on those wickets.

Out of main English batsmen Burns Root Sibley Stokes Pope all got out on normal deliveries. It's just that they cant play spin well and we can. They are more then welcome to prepare green mambas when we visit them later this year.

Mumbai 2012 on one such pitch. You play well, you ll be rewarded.

That pitch had lots of moisture on day 1, Dhongi being a bit too oversmart thought an over the hill Zaheer would be enough to roll England over. Now I'll also add that no DRS in that series didn't help us either - Harbhajan had Cook out lbw last over of the second day but the ball-less "neutral umpires" didn't give it out. What failed us most was the thinking that just 3 spinners would be enough to win against a near ATG England batting lineup! An Ahmedabad like pitch would've been more than enough, but nah Dhongi had to play to his "strengths" :damnmate:

Green pitches don't become worse day by day.
