This is the scorecard.  It is Singapore, Singer's Cup. Aamer Sohail he captain.

Cant believe we used to lose to these clowns.

Thankfully these nightmare days are past us PERMANENTLY.

Ironically now we have the team to butcher these guys and set the record straight, but

What a hammering!!!! How phucking bad were we those days :wall:

Respect to old-timers who persisted as cricket fans after our performance in late 80s and 90s. I for one wouldn't be able to continue as a cricket fan if this team starts sucking to that extent.

Lets be honest India have been PATHETIC underachievers in cricket. And I would say we still are given our resources - both human and financial.

Come to think of it - a puny country like Lanka ( 2 % of our population) and similar level of socio-economic development dominated us in the 90s in ODIS.

I started watching cricket only in the 90's and my memories are how despite our monsterous size, we are the 3rd best in Asia after Pak/Lanka in the 90s.

Thats a shaming fact. We have hammered Lanka silly in the last 2 decades though.

Given our size and resources and cricket now going to the small towns  - our 3rd  or 4th team should hammer the Rest of Asia.

Anything less is an underachievement - given that cricket is still by far the most dominant sport for us.

Maybe the primary reason was BCCI thought cricket was played only in Mumbai Delhi & metro cities.  We failed to utilize the potential & manpower in the country.

We are still not there yet.

Population doesn't men's much when you lack the resources. Real talent is found in tough neighbourhoods working hard labour intensive jobs etc.

The ones we see are mostly upper class or middle (upper). Cricket is an expensive sport. Average Indian cannot afford to play cricket. There are always some exceptions but they are just that. Pant Siraj are all a few exceptions.

Not an old-timer but you're welcome.

And yet we have not won a global tournament since 2013... choking in the finals and semi-finals every time. We have not won a test series in Eng since 2007, never in South Africa, in NZ since 2009.. hmm go figure.
