What do you guys think of this strategy? Having extra bats will add cushion in case of collapse like today and we can also stretch the match beyond 2 days. If any english batsman shows resistance, Rohit and Shaw can bowl for 10-15 overs before Ash and Axar are back. We can also eliminate overrate issues and give our pacers much needed break for overseas tests later this year.

Rohit

Gill

Mayank

Shaw

Pujara

Kohli (c)

Pant (wk)

Rahane

H Pandya

Ashwin

Axar

not going to happen.

next match will be play on one of the side pitches, which is more conductive for batting and support pace bowling.

Sundar may miss out for Mayank

Also back to red ball, will easier to play.

The pink ball with extra lacquer skidded more off the pitch, where Axar and Root's arm balls became lethal

Imagine if one of the two gets injured.

Imagine by some freak coincidence both are injured like those collisions.

honestly i would like to see bumrah and siraj operate together to improve their home stats. both need to show they can replace shami and umesh in these conditions. I know the latter 2 arent going anywehre for another 3 years but booms and siraj need to developed for reverse swing potency as well.

especially bumrah can easily become a jaan marna walla fast bowler ala shami in india. he has all the tools.

siraj has immense potential himself. a little bit more pace and he becomes deadly.

Why stop at that.

As most of the fans (on ICF) only want to see us win at any cost and think we can't win on fair pitches, I would suggest a bowl out in a field of wheat crop (or cotton because teams are in Gujarat). England would not know what to do, chances of us winning will be much higher than on a minefield. Plus the match will be over in around an hour. Saves so much resources.

Win-win for everyone.

With red ball in next game, things gonna not that straightforward for the spinners, batsmen may get time to adjust. But I think this is just the inherent nature of this pitch as was visible in domestic T20 matches, turn is inevitable.

However, if it's a shortened match again, it would be hilarious to watch the melt down of our very own supposed Indian fans rather English whinging.

On the XI, I know nothing gonna change but there should be a batsman coming in for Washington Sundar. There is no need to go in with a 5th bowling option if you have no trust in the ability of that player.

They should stop watering pitch with immediate effect starting today:wp23:

I want this match to last exactly 36 hours(not overs,im not that cruel )
