I remember India winning that T20I world cup in SA.

What a flukey moment that was, Pakistan choked.

what is rightfully ours in the first place. Good.

Final should have been played on a cow paddock in rural India for our spinners.

As much as I love and respect nz ,but they need to step aside for the good of world cricket.Maybe we could reward them with some extra t20/ odi tours.

Neutral fans might feel NZ were robbed of the odi WC so they deserve this one atleast

Actually, we were the ones 'choking' in that final. Pakistan was well out of the chase (77-6), then Misbah miraculously brought them back.

Nothing flukey about that. We were the better team in that match.

Actually Pakistan choked in the group match. How the f can international bowlers miss the stumps thrice in a row in a bowl out. India was ahead of Pakistan for most of the time in final match and eventually won

Misbah did all the hard work in 2007 only to choke in final moments.

India needs to get more than 144 rating then they could say they really were greatest side in history of cricket.

Even if we get to 144 this won't be regarded as the best team in history.

Have a look at wi 80s and aus 2000 even Sa 2010s they were filled with god gifted cricketers, talent and ability all around.

This team has three elite cricketers:

1.Kohli

2.Bumrah

3.Pant

Now compare this to aus

Hayden

Ponting

Gilchrist

Mcgrath

Waugh

Warne

Martyn(definitely pure talent)

Clarke

This is basically a team of limited ability getting the best out of what they have.

It's all names. This Indian team will be regarded as one of the best when they are finished.

You can't compare era's.

Australia played against an Indian side with much much inferior bowling etc.

You are a product of your time.

Plus they din't have to play IPl and T20.

Playing all 3 formats is much harder.

Back then players prepared specifically for test series alone. It's not the same now. They have to play short formats before a major test series, sometime without prep.

Cannot compare era's.

I agree but Gill has potential to be great. They have to find another middle order batsman along with great bowler.

This team under Kohli is already greatest home test team. This team will beat any other team including previous Indian teams in home test series.

For Indian conditions they have covered all bases.

Guys like Gilchrist, Ponting, McGrath, Warne, Steve Waugh were elite.

But if you include Hayden, Martyn, Clarke even this team has similar calibre players in test cricket. Martyn was talented but underachiever and inconsistent, other two were kind of HTBs or weak team bullies.

You have a major confidence issue.

Please go check Ravi Jadeja's stats in test cricket in last 4-5 years.  Or his career stats.  He is a bonafide superstar allrounder in test cricket.  Ravi Ashwin can retire today and be in the conversation for best offspinner ever to play test cricket.  If you don't think these 2 are  "elite" then that's your problem.

Ishant's stats over the last 4 years are all-world.  If Ishant, Bumrah and Shami play decent amount of cricket for a couple of more years, their stats will reflect how "elite" they are.

And the ceiling on the likes of Rishabh, Washington, Gill/Shaw is quite high.  I would say that 2 out of these 4 are going to dominate world cricket for a decade.
