Can you imagine a packed stadium at night in India for test match cricket?

You want a D/N match for final? Why? I'd rather see a test match go on to third day and possibly 4th day

Oval could have been an ideal venue for us as it's on the flatter side. But looks like London is off the table.

New Zealand will have an advantage at Headingley, OT, TB etc.....

For the sake of making it fun I rather have a neutral venue.

This is inaugural test so it wil be nice to win at a neutral venue than win at home

since it was set to be hosted earlier at Lords which was gonna be a neutral venue for both NZ and India. So now taking away neutral venue last minue isn’t good for NZ.

Though its a neutral venue.. conditions would be ideal for NZ..  likewise for India if final was in a neutral subcontinent country.. very hard to find a country with neutral conditions

Lol Aus wants to host their own event, thats not possible, will never be.

MCG can be chosen as venue earlier though when AFL gaems aren’t happening but that means delaying WTC final.

Cape Town or Johannesburg would be my recommendation. Alien conditions for both sides.

IMO Australia will be the best neutral venue. Fair to both teams, and batsmen as well as bowlers have equal opportunity.

South Africa I guess. We just played in Australia, so there is some familiarity with conditions and that would be unfair for NZ. South African bouncy greentop is the ideal.

I think Lords venue will be fantastic for an event like this. Just imagine an Indian victory here will shut the traps of the biased English media houses once and for all

given all the hoops we had to jump through to get to no. 1 in WTC, we should have had the chance to select the venue. and if we could, then I'd have chosen a spinning pitch. we would have axar-ashwin-jaddu with sundar as 4th spinner (and middle order bat), whereas NZ would be flailing about with santner and sodhi.

With the way India played Root, I have every confidence that Santner and Sodhi would tear India apart.

Its just that our batsmen should score more runs than theirs.

Headingley or Trent Bridge - Boult gonna be salivating, Rohit sh!tting his pants...will probably feign injury

But more likely to be Southampton or Edgbaston, I believe both have Hotels attached to the stadium making the entire venue into a bubble.

COVID is out of control in South Africa with new strains being discovered

There is a simple reason why it's no longer Lords or London .

UEFA have announced the venues and dates for the Euro 2021finals and on June18 England will play Scotland at Wembley .

Never ever do two major sporting events take place on the same day in the same city for a whole variety of reasons but especially when it will be England playing Scotland at Wembley . Covid rules or not thousands and thousands of Scots will be decending as usual on London .

If it's still to be played in England then more than likely Old Trafford or the Rose Bowl , I heard a whisper the Rose Bowl

Getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Eden, Wankhede or Motera would be perfect.

Crap venue from average spectators point of view, something like 5k tickets for sale after all the who's who have had their pound of flesh

Runs on the board...we will need runs on the board, else this will be over , ever too quickly.

The bowlers will continue to do their job any which ways, its the batters that will need to put their hands up and be counted

Last I read, it was Southampton or Old Trafford, again due to the attached hotels.

I'd prefer Southampton over Old Trafford, so that the scars of 2019 doesn't haunt our top order.  Ageas bowl is a fantastic venue to watch Cricket.

no, they would not. leach is a very solid bowler and bess is very raw but he can bowl wkt-taking bowlers. santner is, on the other hand, not even 50% of vettori, and leach is almost vettori-level (in fact, much better SR and avg). and sodhi is not cut out for test cricket.
