Finally lost my father in law late last night after 4 weeks of terrible struggle.

That's three strikes now against China.

Sorry to hear about your loss. May you and your family have strength to go through this tough time. Stay strong. Sending prayers.

Maharashtra in lockdown since eternity. Extended for 15 more days.

States like Gujarat never needed lockdown for recovery.

UP recovered fastly and is unlocked.

This is just madness now. Apart from southern states we are through this. They should now start unlocking.

Someone close to our family in India.  Only 40 y.o.  Today breathed her last due to Covid.  Extremely sad.  They have an older person at home, so were very careful.  But people around them were living life as usual - events, markets, malls.  Many turned up positive in their locality but recovered.  There is no point now in trying to ask "whom did she get it from?"  All you can do is be careful for your sake, but also for others' sakes.  If everyone in the locality was extra careful, her chances of contracting it would've been much lower.  Being careful - practicing distancing norms and masking - while not a guarantee - have a strong multiplicative effect that can decrease the probability of disease.

I can’t help but keep thinking What if there is wave 3 that too despite vaccination. What if what UK scientific community said first is true. We have to learn to live with this virus as its not going away.

Just today, saw news where some Prof estimates that UK is probably entering Wave 3.

Sad to hear. We don’t know how mortality is connected to this disease , older people surviving and young people dying.
