Ankit_sharma03
As a batsman if u dnt score runs u aint serving much of purpose. About playing that many balls , again if u dnt score runs well it aint helping much. After all diff between proper batsman n night watchman is that the specialist can and shud score runs. vayuu1
You can get away with that kind of strike rate in aus,may be windies, but no way in eng nz and India, where you will get a good ball eventually, I'd rather play a 50 ball 70 than a 80 ball 15,you have to play with intent, Smith, cook, gooch, Peterson, steve smith, Kohli, azhar, heck even dravid, Younis and misbah play with intent here, you need to be 40-45 by 80 ball not 15, Link to comment
vayuu1
Problem with pujara is his running is abysmal which is understatement,he converts 1's into 0,2's into 1's abd 3's into 2's. Iconoclast, Cricspin, Lord and 3 others 1 3 2 Link to comment
SK_IH
Pujara is definitely past his sell-by date. Time to move on. Did extremely well for someone who was brought up on the featherbeds of Rajkot. Forever will be remembered for underpinning our triumph in Aus in 2018. Lord 1 Link to comment

The Realist
Pujara is done. So one-dimensional that its embarrassing. As an experienced international player have to be able to adapt and play to the game situation. Yet all he does EVERYTIME is BLOCK. Which means he's either not very bright or lacks the capability to shift gears. Either way it is time to move on. Link to comment

Trichromatic
It's not just 15 off 80. He misses lot of 3s and 2s because of his running, so effectively he reduces runs of his partners also. Cricspin 1 Link to comment

zen
Pujara has a different mindset, he looks to play sessions (confident of doing that) and runs are a product that … Classic test match batting! I know there are cricket fans who ideally should not be following tests follow it and expect every format to be played similarly. Read a book or something. It is not like one has to follow every format just because it is cricket … LOIs will began soon Link to comment

Pujara has bossed in Aus in the last two series. Talking about Eng, in the last series: Copy and paste of an old post Primary team India Opposition team England Home or away away (home of opposition) Start of match date greater than or equal to 1 Jan 2018 Batting position between 1 and 3 Ordered by batting average (descending) Overall figures Player Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 0 4s 6s CA Pujara 4 8 1 278 132* 39.71 726 38.29 1 1 1 33 0 KL Rahul 5 10 0 299 149 29.90 450 66.44 1 0 1 44 1 S Dhawan 4 8 0 162 44 20.25 292 55.47 0 0 0 23 0 M Vijay 2 4 0 26 20 6.50 75 34.66 0 0 2 4 0 As a top order batsman (#1-3), he was in a league of his own in that series too ... Averaged 40, when average sans him is 22 (so Pujara is +82%) ... as for the # of balls faced, it is 726 in 7 (ignoring the not out for avg) so the avg is over 100 (avg sans him is 37 balls, Pujara is 280%+ than that avg) In his entire career, Pujara has not been super good in every series but he has turned it around in the last few years, and in countries like Aus, he is the boss Link to comment
zen
In tests, players play to their strengths (which is what makes it tough). A Pujara would do what works best for him, a Pant would do what works best for him. Having such different styles and approaches is one of the USPs of tests, no other format allows for that!
