Can Indian team break Australian record of 16 consecutive test wins?

Rahane is useless. Pujara is ok. Does what he has to do. If he gets out he looks bad doing what he does. If he stays long enough and scores 30 or 40 odd then he looks a real hero.

Gill can play at no. 3, Gill is the kind of player who shouldn't open, secondly no. 5 is too low for Rahul. 

Rahul had a very tight game when he started, IPL and lure of lois made him change his style, but looks like he is back in his elements. 

 

I would like to see Prithvi Shaw play at 5, he is the kind of batsman who will really love to bat at that position, opening in tests isn't suitable for a player like him.

But we will keep extending this record for minimum 4-5 more years, no one in the future is going to come close to this streak. Say, 20-25 consecutive series wins at home over close to 15 years, not even a draw in between !!!! More than twice the number as second best. 

 

 

Basically our test team is the equivalent of Nadal in tennis, a GOAT contender. We will win in all conditions, all major test series but in SC like conditions we will go down as the undisputed GOAT.

 

NZ too is developing a good home record but 6 of their series wins have come against Pak, WI, BD, Lanka. RSA can at least manage a draw against them, not even talking about Aussies....last time Smith's team went to NZ they were served with green tops and still we saw how they battered the Kiwis. NZ board has smartly avoided Aus in this WTC cycle as well, but how long can they hide?

I want us to decimate n.z firstly at home then we just need to prep well for away tours. When we go to n.z, I expect our boys to play some practice tour games. Need to up our preparation. They are not an easy side to beat away.

Sridhar the fielding coach mentioned he worked very hard for last 50 days or so on his technique. The biggest problem with rahul is consistency. Let’s see if he can repeat his performance.

Thats the most important point. The way we are performing in england has got lot to do with us staying there for last two months, acclimatising and then playing an international level practice match against worlds best pace attack in wtc finals.. you get used to the weather pitch movement etc. If india can do that ie be at saf 2 weeks early at least we can beat them. But the short answer is NO CHANCE  in we ll play anything other than intra squad matches..

A batting unit which has scored two lowest innings of 36 and 78 in about one year will never be a great consistent batting unit to break all time records. Unless off course one means breaking records of all time lowest scores.

Without rain aus would win that series 2-1.aus was in strong postion in first 2 test.nz was in strong position in only last test.
