Aggressive opener in India

Every time I think of aggressive opener. Sehwag is first one on the list.  India won 2011 WC semi final because of him. He manhandled Umar Gul so badly that he still asks what is the question to the host after speaking for few mins . He deflated Shoaib Akhtar in that 300 innings. He was only who played steyn well in that match where steyn swinging crazily.  Rohit Sharma plays two slowly and KL Rahul plays most irrelevant knocks. Most T20 teams now have aggressive opener. Do we have an aggressive opener like him ? Don’t remember seeing in IPL any Indian opener who is aggressive. I don’t watch many IpL matches too.

Also, with that 300 he ended Chucklain Mushtaq's career.

Ind does not just need aggressive openers but an entire batting order of free flowing positive batsmen, who are not afraid to hit a bad ball and get out in doing so.

Are you saying that tuk tuk Pandya should be dropped?

Mindset is important. Prithvi shaw is the only one who has that mindset. He has few technical issues that will be brutally exploited.  But if he works harder he can own that place. Isan Kishan is another. On his day he can be like Jayasuriya.  We should be prepared for repeated failures from him. That is the risk we should be willing to take. Srilanka sent Jaya and Kalu in 1996 with an idea that their wickets can be sacrificed.  Same way Gilly's wicket was not the most important wicket despite his fantastic career.  That kind of security has to be provided. That is only one part. We act like we are great at finishing the innings. We have to get better in the middle overs and end overs as well. There are three phases    1-6, 7-15, 16-20.  We need players to handle all 3 parts. Not just first 6 overs. Often times how you finish the game decides more than how you start the game.  Stoinis and Wade added 81 runs in 40 balls. Same way Yuvi's blitzgreig in 2007 helped us beat England. In the IPL many times we have seen Russell, Pollard completely changing the game in 2 or 3 overs.  Tewatia's knock is an example how lower order can completely change the game.

Finishing is important but how we are setting the tone as well. The problem with current lot is they are slow to start and loose wickets trying to up run rate. Middle order is under immense pressure because of it.

Why can't they select SHAW... none more aggresive

Has potential but needs to tighten up his game. Deserves respect though for sticking to the ultra aggressive batting mode always and not looking to play "safe" like most Indian batsmen are doing, for whatever reason.

Our problem is handling top order collapses. That is where we have no answer. If Rahul and Rohit stay there for 6 overs without losing wicket i back one of them to going big like they did in England. Both Rohit and Rahul made centuries.  Everything comes to a halt once they get out in the first 2 overs. That is where we have no players to cover. Also we need power hitters not weak ass hitters down the order. Creative, innovative hitters from 5 to 7.  These 3 can bat for 10 overs and completely change the game. Wade and Stoinis made 81 runs in 40 balls. They were like 95 for 5 in 13th over.

Issue is we indians dont forgive. We indians cant take a single loss. We indians will react when these playere will lose few badly while playing like as you mentioned.. free flowing.. our media will create a circus.. vikrant gupta will scratch his beard and say yeh kya kar diya.. kya zaroorat tha.. akash chopra will say you cannot just play like that.. you have to think about the situation.. gambhir will say india didnt play smart cricket..and there will be huge criticism of the andha dhun batting which will put ayushman khuranas acting to shame.. and this will create pressure on these free flowing batsmen and they ll then in next match start tuk tuk first two overs.. thats the reason..we are not england.. we are not like english cricket fans.. who ll forgive or rather forget these matches and see the bigger picture.. till we dont mature like them india will always be extra careful TILL they are back to the walls and then once in blue moon you ll see two matches like the last two t20s india played against england.. its a vicious cycle and circle..

Wade's innings is a one off. Stoinis can do it repeatedly

You need such one off innings to win world cup. Yuvi innings against Aussies in t20 semi final in 2007 might be still the best t20 innings played an Indian batsman in crunch time.
