Since Shreyas Iyer is hard to drop now, the axe will fall on poor Mayank.

But the question will be when Rohit Sharma is back, who will be dropped?

The options are 1)Shreyas Iyer, 2) Ajinjkya Rahane, 3) C Pujara.

I want Shreyas in place of Ajinjkya. But I m not sure if TM will go with Rahane over Iyer. 

What else should Iyer do to retain his place in the next test then?

Rahane and Pujara's time is over. 

Its quite obvious that Shreyas will bat at 5 but  if the TM somehow tries to replace Mayank with Kohli and ask Pujara to open even then come SA tour Pujara will be replaced by Sharma, so Shreyas Iyer has just ended the career of atleast one of the seniors.

When Rohit and Rahul comes back then Pujara will be dropped so doesn't matter whatever trick the TM pull one of the seniors is definitely gonna be dropped.

As I said,they will wait for Iyer to fail. Vihari is already out of contention.

 

Rohit-Rahul wont come back next Test.They might be 'rested' more.

Imagine the outrage when a Kohli loses the toss and then announces the team, “Oh we would’ve also liked to bat first. Only one change in the team as Shreyas has a little niggle so he is rested and I come in his place”…  :finger:

Bingo. Iyer will be niggled out.

 

Kohli will also show some love to Ishant Sharma.

That's what Jaffer is suggesting, dropping Mayank although with Saha opening. 

 

Does this Hahane hold every Indian cricketer's black money + honey pot secrets or provide them some very pleasurable service(s) ? Cannot seem to figure any other reason for the unconditional support.
