zen Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) Read some of the comments here and it is hilarious to see troll infestation (many no name posters in my book) and hate on a simple cheering thread for fans of a great player potentially playing his last test inning in SA. It is like you are driving in a sports car in India and someone on an old bike begins to race with you when you don’t even care about such jerks Edited January 13, 2022 by zen Mariyam and Ravi_Shastri 1 1

There is a really funny Mahatma Gandhi ( yes, he had a sense of humour) anecdote on the same lines, that I've read and feel compelled to share. A rookie British reporter for BBC had was FOTB and had just disembarked near the Gateway of India, when his boss accosted him and suggested that he run to Bombay Central station to interview Mahatma Gandhi, who was catching a train having kicked off the Quit India Movement. The reporter manages to reach the train just before it leaves. He enters the Coupe section, where he spots various British officers and Indian Princes. He doesn't find MG over there. He then heads to the first class section, only to be disappointed again. He then ventures to the second class section, where he finds the stench overpowering, but yet doesn't find MG. Finally, he stumbles into the third class section and finds MG seated on the floor of the compartment with his followers and partaking in a bhajan. The reporter, now out of breath, goes up to MG and asks for an interview. MG obliges. But the rookie reporter says that before the interview can begin, he would like to ask MG why he is travelling third class. Especially when he knows that everyone on board, British or Indian, would happily give up their seat for MG. MG replies: " Because there is no fourth class" Trichromatic, sarcastic, littlemaster1982 and 2 others 4 1

Gambit Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 OP is a dementor who has given kiss of death to Pujara and Pandya’s career. Hope he doesn’t do the same to Pant. And unlike the other two, Pant has a lot of fans here who will dispel the dementor away. Norman, Laaloo, Lord and 5 others 6 2

Let me repeat - India plays with 5 specialist batsman. But keep spreading the myth. Pujara is the most overrated batsman of current times. He was good at home until about 3-4 years back, never good outside Asia except that one freak series in Aus and a consistent failure. The only reason he gets hyped is because he ends up taking body blows and it is portrayed like he is some kind of warrior. But taking so many body blows indicates that he has a poor technique against short pitched bowling, which those hype masters don't point out. Ravi_Shastri and express bowling 2

Frustrated Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) Those who truly understand cricket must be aware that recent Stats and current form should NOT be the metrics to decide if a batsman should be persisted with. What matters is the total no of threads created on ICF. Edited January 13, 2022 by Frustrated Ravi_Shastri 1

Was cheering for a final hurray in SA but ... Have been waiting for a test series win in SA since 1990s ... this was one of the best opportunities but no issues will wait longer (such challenges to surmount make sports more interesting) Edited January 13, 2022 by zen RedFever 1
zen Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 Another good opportunity was In 2006/7. The teams were level moving into the last test. Ind even took the lead, but still lost the game and the series Scorecard
