Popular Post Nikola Posted January 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) So who was better pacer between both? Reason i am selecting dada over bhuvi. Better performance against top teams Bowled at similar pace as bhuvi Was way more fit in comparision to someone who plays from ipl to ipl with some random bilateral series Could have bowled quicker than bhuvi if he would have focused on his bowling Never got removed from attack after opening bowling spell of 1 over Aggressive player Bonus: Could captain team & bat in top order Sorry dada fans if you guys felt this comparison was his insult. R!TTER Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) I think it's a close call, SCG is really underrated for the most part - he was India's best part timer after SRT till Sehwag or Yuvraj came along! Has a fifer against thy neighbors, my vote goes to the spectacled pacer Edited January 21, 2022 by R!TTER raki05 1
Suhaan Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Bhuvi is Lord of all trundlers, trundlers around the world worship him They fast on his name to mark his birth anniversary express bowling and raki05 2
Majestic Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Ofcourse Saurav Ganguly. Look at what he has to say to Dravid when Dravid said that Tendulkar had more wickets than you so I preferred him. A must watch.
Vijy Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) I know the original post is not to be taken literally, but Gangu was a pretty useful seamer, especially in domestics. had he not been top/middle order batter (and often captain), he could have become a pretty useful bowler; 1980s level "pacer" Edited January 21, 2022 by Vijy express bowling 1
Nikola Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) Time to bump this thread as deluded fans are back into thinking bhuvi has been our richard hadlee. Can't bump old threads so if anyone wants here it is. Edited December 22, 2022 by Nikola Vijy, raki05 and Number 1 2
singhvivek141 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) Ganguly has 4 back to back Man of Matches against Pakistan in Toronto. He contributed with both bat and ball and had a bowling figure of 5 for 16. How many MOM's Bhuvi Kumar have in ODI's ? Edited December 22, 2022 by singhvivek141 raki05 1
Pollack Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Only if the question was "Who is the faster pacer between the two" . . . . . I would've definitely still voted for Ganguly. raki05 and Stan AF 2
R!TTER Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Actually with 2 new balls, also depends on the pitch, he could've been even more effective! Dibbly dobbly seamers are rare these days but the ones who could move the ball would always trouble batters, SCG was like that & SRT as well. raki05 1

putrevus Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) I would take Ganguly anyday over Bhuvi.India would have won 2019 semis if Ganguly played, Bhuvi and Rahul would have been kicked out and Shami also would have played. One player would have changed whole team. That's why I think Dravid just don't involve in selections. He is just accepting whatever is given to him, which is again a negative extreme. Same thing he did under Greg, where coach was calling all shots and he was being a yes man. I don't think Dravid is happy with the team either, he was happy with U-19 and at NCA but with Senior team he just looks depressed and demotivated.

Probably because fast pacers are rare at junior level so easy to spot. But they are abundant in international, so he (read they) values something else.
