I think it's a close call, SCG is really underrated for the most part - he was India's best part timer after SRT till Sehwag or Yuvraj came along! Has a fifer against thy neighbors, my vote goes to the spectacled pacer :lollypop:

Ofcourse Saurav Ganguly. Look at what he has to say to Dravid when Dravid said that Tendulkar had more wickets than you so I preferred him.

A must watch.

I know the original post is not to be taken literally, but Gangu was a pretty useful seamer, especially in domestics. had he not been top/middle order batter (and often captain), he could have become a pretty useful bowler; 1980s level "pacer"

Ganguly has 4 back to back Man of Matches against Pakistan in Toronto.

He contributed with both bat and ball and had a bowling figure of 5 for 16.

How many MOM's Bhuvi Kumar have in ODI's ?

Actually with 2 new balls, also depends on the pitch, he could've been even more effective! Dibbly dobbly seamers are rare these days but the ones who could move the ball would always trouble batters, SCG was like that & SRT as well.

So here, Dravid is talking about needing higher bowling speeds and sustaining speeds, but chooses the slowest pacers available as Coach of Team India.

But he regularly picked the fastest pacers in u19 cricket.

That's why I think Dravid just don't involve in selections.

He is just accepting whatever is given to him, which is again a negative extreme.

Same thing he did under Greg, where coach was calling all shots and he was being a yes man.

I don't think Dravid is happy with the team either, he was happy with U-19 and at NCA but with Senior team he just looks depressed and demotivated.

That means someone else enjoys more power than him. That mysterious someone!

Probably because fast pacers are rare at junior level so easy to spot. But they are abundant in international, so he (read they) values something else.
