I was kind of getting the sense or vibe that a lot of things came on me. Obviously that is fine. I play the sport, I get the...but the position in which we were and when I went, I felt everything was kept on me, everything was thrown at me. I didn't bowl, yes, but I was selected in the team as a batsman. 

“I worked really hard to bowl in the first game, which obviously I was not able to. I got hit the first game and in the second game when I pulled, I wasn't supposed to go. I pushed for my team but eventually setbacks as you said things happen,"

Not the best of statements - he needs to learn not to bother with trying to explain himself honestly, and protect himself by avoiding any sort of controversy.

 

 

Clearly, the criticism is getting to him - I mean he's human, and he's trying to "explain" himself.  Its a lost cause.  "Fans" don't want to hear explanations of what went wrong, how or why.  Indian market doesn't care for any of that.

Yeah, but for fans it is good to see a lower middle order batsman’s  perspective, highlighting the negative impact of Tuk Tuk batting by the top order batsmen which many of us has discussed

SDP could become a superstar in cricket like SRK is in movies … Like how SRK copied Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bacchae, etc, SDP may copy all major captains to become a superstar captain

Almost negligible significant achievement/ performance in a 6 year long career, has been injured and yet kept getting back to the team without doing much in the last 2 years, the team carried him as a specialist batsman to give him enough time to recover from his injuries. And then this guy goes out and gives such arrogant interviews.

 

I'm sure Dravid's "we missed Hardik" cry in SA has emboldened him. Then there is the IPL captaincy. Not sure who is the genius in that Venture Capital firm who saw a captain in him but good luck to them handling the Pandya brothers.

I hope Dravid-Rohit do not cottonwool him like Kohli-Shastri did carrying him through the Australia test series instead of sending him back to India and asking him to play in the domestic LO tournaments.

 

Ask him to play Ranji Trophy before the IPL. He hasn't reported at the NCA for his rehab, must be fit to play FC cricket.
