Kohli looked rattled in yesterday's innings. Edging the very first ball, going after pretty much every ball - it was an uncharacteristic knock from him. It will be interesting to see if the short ball will be used regularly as a weapon against him in the next few games. No batsman is perfect against it, even Rohit fell to the short ball a few times in the recent past.

Any random left arm spinner can tie him up.  I still think he is OK against pace in limited overs.  He can maneuver the ball without manufacturing shots as he can use the pace.  Not at a world class level now though as he has lack of strokes. 

Vs spin its hilarious.   Eager to see his dance again IPl..  If he plays at no 3 & faces more spin it will be top class comedy.

His back foot game is completely gone, doesn't step out to spinners either - just with drives and flicks difficult to survive at the top level.

 

Better to move him to 6 to give more strength to a young lower middle order

A shadow of himself. Like Viv was in second half if I am not wrong. Obviously, Viv had that ability to score at faster rate than Kohli ever had.

He should play each and every match and focus on getting back to his best now that he has left captaincy.

 

The main reason of the upcoming loi tourneys for Team India should be to bring their generational batsman Kohli back to form, that's the highest priority, all others can wait. 

This Indian team will tank in every tournament without a fit and firing Kohli.

His spin issues need a season of domestic cricket to sort out, he wasn't a demon against spin even at his very best imo. In LOI's every team has a good wrist spinner/ SLAO bowler who takes the ball away and causes him problems.

I am not talking about Kohli the LOI captain, I am talking about Kohli the LOI batsman and I don't need to present any stats here. There's a reason he was Icc cricketer of the decade. 

 

Secondly he is in a bad patch and yes without him performing this team couldn't even win against South Africa C, the last time Kohli visited SA he made 3 centuries and won his team the odi series by 4-1 (the first ever odi series victory in Sa) against a proper South African team with Rabada, Morkel, Ngidi, Devilliers etc. 

That is exactly my point, this team can't even win against SouthAfrica C without Kohli performing.

He should be kicked out of the team like captaincy if he doesn't perform. It's not his baap ki jagir that he keep getting chances and it should be TM & bcci top priority . 

 

    Abey Fit & firing Kohli ne kya ukhad liya inspite of playing so many icc tourney as a captain. Looks like your earnings are on the line they way you are trying to protect your mesiha job.

We lost to sa also because of him and kela eating balls after balls in first 30 over. Had he not been there and some potential youngsters would have played atleast they would have got experience. In loi other than personal stats padding and bla  bla cricketer of the decade what else he achieved for india nothing,nadda, zero.

Did I say he is the only reason. He was one of the reason, him, Bhuvi should not be  in the team and kela should never have been captain. I think Kohli should only focus on test cricket and he should stop playing loi but due to selfishness he is still playing all matches , meaningless biletral and devoiding a potential youngster to grab the position for future well being of Indian cricket. He passed his expiry date 2 years back in loi the more he continued the more he dent his legacy and india chances to Winn ng an icc trophy.

Not only left arm spinners but leggies as well, Sodhi/Zampa/Rashid all restrict him quite easily.

I will not look into yesterday's innings to make comments about Kohli's decline as batsman, his hand eye coordination has atrophied quite a bit in last couple of years, hence less proficient now. His best is behind him & he should be thoroughly disappointed he has no stand out innings in big events in ODIs.
