Every cricket fan gave Rahane the credit. Also, it was only Kohli and his reluctance to include any young batsman who could outperform him that allowed Rahane to play as many matches as he did. He deserved to be kicked out a long time back. raki05, Suhaan and Vk1 3
maniac Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) Rahane = Respect He is 100% right. Had he retired after Aus series would have been a bonafide legend and probably recalled back as captain for tests. He screwed it up: Now regained respect after this interview yet again. This should be that high note on which he retires. I am with Rahane on this and he hasn’t said anything wrong. Edited February 10, 2022 by maniac Suhaan, raki05, sage and 1 other 1 3
vvvslaxman Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 This is borderline petty . What is next. "I moved the fielder to third man. He didn't do it" . I remember Rohit suggesting Bumrah to bowl a slower one to Shaun Marsh at the stroke of lunch. Bumrah shared it. Rohit somewhat downplayed it. Ravi shastri is a personality known for selfishness. So there may be truth in it. But even then why bickering over these things. All he had to do was batting well. raki05 and Pollack 2

Texan Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Yes, Rahane is right. Unfortunately for us, he is actually the captain that we need, but his batting is just not good enough right now to deserve a place as a batsman. Shastri takes credit for everything good, while finding someone else to blame for everything bad that happened. Even if we end up winning any ICC Trophy in the next 5 years, Shastri will put his hand up and say that he was responsible for building the team that ended up winning that trophy. rollingstoned, vvvslaxman and raki05 3
diga Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Rahane can become the coach instead of being a middle order batsman... raki05 1
Lord Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) if his performances werent enough, this guy should be fired for this interview alone Very unprofessional and toxic Edited February 10, 2022 by Lord

Funny thing is, India lost the test match (36 all out) on which he captained and also the next test when he returned (1st test against Eng at home). Kohli getting credit for the series win in Australia is as retarded as saying posters on this forum deserve credit for the win with our posting of tactics. raki05 1
SRT100 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Anyone who has seen the The Dark Knight Trilogy can appreciate the madness of Kohli thinking he won India the series in Australia. Much like how the Joker believed he saved Gotham. Kohli is our cricket Joker. raki05 1

Ek cheez decide kar lo bhai fir discuss karenge.
Sgattick10 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Well Rahane let them (Kohli/Shastri) take the credit in return for 3 yrs of test cricket.

" Virat is not the captain anymore. Rohit is captain in two formats as of now and might become test captain too. What's the reason behind starting this needless controversy? In which way does this profit Indian cricket? Even if it harms Kohli, he is still a player in Indian team, why are efforts being made to pull him down even after he gave up captaincy in test format? This Boria or whatever is nothing but a coward, you can see that he will interview each and every cricketer bar Kohli, he just wants to make some bucks while trying to sabotage someone else's career having zero clue that he is against a force thrice his size.
Adamant Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Now I think why Kohli defended a rat like Rahane, a 39 averaging test failure. Should have thrown him to the wolves, he would be regretting all the decisions he made to defend this Mumbai Lobby sasta Damien Martyn.

If not for kohli and shastri' endless backing, he would hv been kicked out of the team long ago. The reason why Rahane and Pujara were backed is to direct the attention towards them.. Kohli is having horrid time as a player and if not for captaincy/Rahane/Pujara's pathetic form he would have been dropped by now SRT100 and Frustrated 1 1

His own words btw. Make no mistake. He is a trash batsman atleast in his latter years. He is undefeated as captain. Have to give him some credit.

He kept rahaneee and puji in the team to hide his flaws. His numbers started dipping post 2019. To mask his deficiencies he needed 2 scapegoats who would make him look better. Too bad they all sucked equally bad and cost us 2 series wins. raki05 and Vk1 2
