No real energy in his gait like what I see in Siraj when switched on.

Just raw pace and some yorker bowling ability won't cut it.

Please give chances to other pace bowlers.

When i look at players on debut i also look at their body language. This guy had a poor body language. So much scratchy. May be didn't hit the nets enough to get into rhythm. I am willing to give benefit of the doubt. PEople have been making a case for him for atleast 2 or 3 years. So he should not waste opportunities just by turning up without any intensity.

Very well put. It is ok if he went for runs or could not pick wickets. But there is absolutely no excuse to lack intensity when you have international cap on your head for the first time.

Very disappointing from him. I would give him few more opportunities but if he continues to display lack of any enthusiasm, he should not be considered for Indian colors.

He does have pace. He bowls a heavy ball, so you can't just look at the speed gun. I think he deserves some more chances. He would be more effective on pitches that offer him some bounce.

Yeah.  That's my assessment as well.  He is more of a hit the deck kind of bowler.  Could be effective in Aus?  Only time will tell.

Gets benefit of doubt only because it is his first game. Didn’t show anything Pace- none, accuracy - none, skills- none, can’t field and doesn’t add much else.

He isn’t a 140+ bowler like everyone says he is from what I see. On his best 135-140k with maybe a couple of balls delivered over 140. Don’t expect much. Hope he proves me wrong.

in this match, he was mostly bowling low 130s with occasional forays into high 130s. definitely trundled in this match

Just goes to show how different a beast international cricket is even if it's against teams like Sri Lanka or West Indies.

Padikkal, Gaikwad, Venky Iyer, Varun C and now Avesh....

Gaikwad looked good. He was a bit over ambitious today. Venky Iyer was really good in this series. Varun C was over-rated always. Got away with his novelty factor for a while. Avesh has to step up big time.  Let us not forget Dhoni failed in first 3 matches i think against Bangladesh

I have seen him bowling  with good pace in IPL , hardly any pacy delivery today, ,may be he was in the company of all trundlers today who were getting results even with lack of pace. He needs more time but needs to be persisted with.
