Ravi Shastri may not be everyone's cup of tea but is a voice that can motivate players.

 

Dravid seems a docile character, I am not sure whether he can rev the players up in the current situation.

2 historic series teed up for the taking by Kohli/Shastri leadership group. Dravid comes in and stuffs both of them. It was really nice enjoying Indian test cricket with Kohli as captain but that era is now well and truly dead. I don't see India ever being a test force ever again.

Is he gonna teach Kohli batting or Vihari fielding ? The rot had already set in & Dravid/selectors continued with the downward journey. You might as well advocate on Rahane's inclusion based on MCG inning.

I would advocate for Rahane as a specialist captain :-). No one can argue that.

BCCI has policy of age limit for captain. Shastri is retired because he is 60 years old.

New coach has to identify weakness areas and improve upon it. Indian batting actually regressed under Kohli/Ravi combo.

Do you think that quiet people do not have killer instinct...do you think this england team is same as the one that we played last year.. do you think David has played all those innings  without ability to strategize and face up to hostility... We lost because we are still selecting wrong players ... No stable captain... Squads in flux... What happened in world cups under shastri...not saying it is his fault but saying he isn't the magic wand

LMAO..Shastri was no different.. Players have been playing the same brand of cricket... Australian series win doesnt make him better ,we have lost so many winnable matches under Shastri,too...

Thakur batted well under Shastri lol That is the only difference.  He helped us win 2 tests atleast with his bat. We accidentally found SUndar the batsman. Battingwise we have been sucking balls. Besides Ravi bot ran into an out of form Bairstow. Now here we have a guy who has bulldozed two TC finalists last season with his attacking batting. Lot of difference. Although i don't like the conservative/slow approach of Dravid, i don't think Shastri would have made any difference. Same bowling line up struggled in NZ too. Siraj is more like a flash in the pan now.  They have prove over a period. Even Mike Boland took 6 wickets for almost nothing against England.

Arun didn't reapply but the board should have requested him to stay on board. The useless Rathour got reappointed instead!

Bring back who? The biggest disaster in Indian cricket history. Was a terribly selfish batsman in his days and Kohli's bootlicker as a coach.
