Well, only the 5th day will tell. But in my opinion, it is one risk too many here. Based on the runs scored, it appears the wicket is a batting highway. They should have gotten another 40-50 runs. With the way they were scoring, that would have meant playing another 5-6 overs, which would have been wiser to do.

England scored over 900 runs in this game. If they end up losing, it will probably be a first.

yes, they will be 1st to lose after scoring 600+ in 1st innings, if that happens

They don't care. With the world Cup on, no one in England would even be aware of this series. Even their most ardent test supporters would have been getting ready to watch England vs Senegal while Brook was playing a T20 knock yesterday.

They can lose 3-0 and no one will bat an eye back home. They may as well take some risks and be positive.

Did Paxtan choke or did the English bowlers do a great job or did the pitch start breaking up? England is just one wicket away from a win now! Yesterday I thought they erred by not batting 1 more hour for another 60-70 runs but it looks like they timed it perfectly.

There you have it. No other way to promote and maintain health of Test cricket other than cricket like this. It could’ve easily turned into a borefest with everyone looking to rake easy runs.

Dravid and co. will not even think of such a declaration because 1) we don’t have the bowlers for it 2) we haven’t inbred such a mindset in our domestic setup 3) everyone plays for their position
