Chakdephatte Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) Everyone was on their feet when he hit that six against Rauf. But didn't take them long to forget it. He is a player, he has to give his 100% every match. Now it's not his fault that Sri Lanka gives easy runs. Edited January 15, 2023 by Chakdephatte rollingstoned, sandeep and cricketfan28 3
sandeep Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Yes, some of these runs scored against SL are 'easier', but its mportant to get a lynchpin guy like him into good form this year. Its not like he's going to retire before the 2023 ODI WC. nevada and AuxiliA 2
rageaddict Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Any runs scored against SL after 2017 CT should be ignored just like we ignore runs scored against Ireland, Netherlands and Zimbabwe while comparing International Batsmen. Frustrated and raki05 2

nevada Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Against lesser opposition and in bilateral LOIs, our accomplished batsmen seem to score in auto-pilot mode. Muscle memory takes over, they stop thinking and just score and score non-stop. Of course, they have earned this level of confidence with their domination against such opposition early in their careers. Too bad they do the exact opposite when faced with any pressure. The recent 4th innings test against BD is a case in point. All the maharathis were out in predictable fashion for even a small target. rollingstoned and Bigg Brother 1 1
Stan AF Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 There should be a petition to stop calling sri lanka and west indies for bi-lateral tours to India. You can cut atleast 40% of the 100s by the Indian batsmen. Bigg Brother, Vk1, raki05 and 1 other 1 1 2

Bigg Brother Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 1(13), 5(9), 1(6)...These are his scores in last 3 major ODIS KO games. (WC-15 SF,CT17 FINAL and WC SF 19 respectively) ...No matter what he does in these bilateral games and bash SL,NZ as much as he wants, these numbers are always going to work against him. Once in a generation player doesn't walk away in KO games every time in single digits, apparently he is called chase master and in these games India were chasing.. The greatest bilateral bully if there was any....And we are blessed with two of the greatest. (RoKo) Number, raki05, Vk1 and 4 others 1 4 1 1

Yup..Against Bangladesh when both the basher (RoKo) clicked which just proves the point further. I included the game where we were knocked out (SF) and lost (Final)..Anyway be happy with 90 runs against Bangladesh... eulbninem and Gollum 2

I know this is sort of off topic but Bangladesh had a no result vs Australia. They made 182. Aus were on 83/1 after 16 overs. Could have been a big victory and NRR margin of Australia could have been higher than Bangladesh had it not rained. Australia also had a no result vs New Zealand. Rain played a big part in that group in helping Bangladesh qualify otherwise I think it'd have been Australia vs India in the semi final. I would however say though Kohli is the only one who stands up in T20 KOs. I understand that the thread is about 50 overs cricket. He failed in 2022 but he was unstoppable in 2016 and 2014. True. They were on their way to get a much bigger total until they lost the plot. When Jadhav bowled that delivery to Mushfiqur and even before the ball reached the batsman Kohli lined himself up coz he knew exactly what Mushfiqur was gonna do. You do that when you're a kid to get people out when you know they'd let their imagination get ahead of their ability thinking they'd that big shot. Their eyes light up when they see that ball. Same happened to them in that 1 run defeat during WT20 2016.

Yeah, also the test series in BD where Kohli made a fool of himself. Slightly challenging conditions, home side exploiting the pitches well, lots of pressure and we saw how he wilted. Sharma is a gone case, no redeeming quality at this stage of his career. Scary to imagine these two will be sure starters in home WC 9 months from now. Also the WTC final if we get there.....complete lack of accountability in Indian cricket. nevada, zen and Bigg Brother 3
