2020/21 - I would add Pujara to the list for scoring 3 50s in the last 4 innings to help India neutralize the OZ bowlers. Was the most consistent batsman in the 2nd half of the series.

2001 - Bhajji and Laxman. Hard to say who was better

Miracle of Kolkata that was some knock by VVS.

India on its knees and all but set to be humiliated and embarrassed. That partnership by Dravid and VVS was something extraordinary. Gilly getting out for a king pair due to SRT.

Legendary match.

Tendulkar also chipped in with 3 key wickets in the 2nd innings.

I hope KL get a few runs else he will be standing out of team.

Ideally India wins and KL and Kohli both fail. This is the best result for India.

Dhawan debut was fantastic . He won us the series if I remember

Kumble was omnipotent in every series .

Player of series was Ashwin in 2012-13 home series although Murali Vijay was leading run scorer with two hundreds and standout batter.

Kumble was excellent in 2003/04 series vs ATG Australian batting.

Rohit Sharma has a good chance to make a serious impact in this series and become the standout batter. He already proved his worth vs England in 2021 and this series will help him strengthen his case as a test batsman even more.

4000 test runs at 44-45 average will cement his place as the top 5 Indian test opener of all-time, only behind Gavaskar, Sehwag and Merchant.

is it only batsmen?

Otherwise Ash-Jaddu have done well

Jaddu probably is the mvp for most of the Indian series. Bumrah did well in the first debut Australian tour. Ashwin was very good intially.

Show some love to bowlers as well.

1998 was as much about Kumble

2001 Harbhajan

2008 Ishant

2013 Ashwin

2017 Jaddu

2020-21 away so many heroes, tough to point at just one standout player.

OP,

BG trophy was christened and started from the one/off test in 1996/97 only. 1992 series doesn't come under BG trophy.

It does because SRT played in it :smokin:

While making this list, I was thinking only about batsman actually. But if I have to include the bowlers and consider overall, my changes would be:

2012/13 - Ashwin

2016/17 - Pujara/Jadeja( can't differentiate)

2003/04 - Dravid/Kumble

No change for rest.
