How should fans react on the gross mismanagement by Jay Shah in organizing Asia cup?

So the much anticipated clash against Pakistan got washed out. The media, fans, broadcasters everyone was eagerly waiting for this game but it turned into a farce.

 

Now the weather forecast says there is a high probablity of rain again tomorrow during our clash with Nepal. 

 

Not only that, all the remaining matches are scheduled in Colombo where it is continously raining. There is a high probablity that most super 4 games and finals will be affected by rain as well.

 

I know weather is not in everyone's hand but Jay Shah has to take the blame for it. He had the option to have this tournament in Pakistan which he denied. If Deep Dasgupta can go there, if BCCI dignitaries can go there....why cant the players?

 

And if GOI was not permitting the team to visit there, he could have hosted it in UAE or BD. Not only he choose SL in the middle of monsoon but also rejected the proposal to host it in drier venues like Dambulla.

 

Not only we fans being denied to enjoy a brilliant tournament but players are also missing out on some high quality matches before world cup.

 

Its absolutely shambolic how this whole situation has been handled. As cricker fans, pls join this thread to share your frustration on BCCI/Jay Shah.

Bangladesh would have been a better option tbh, India was never going to travel to Pakistan, it is still very much unsafe with political turmoil, cricket in Asia bar India and mirpur Dhaka is rubbish, Nepal does not have a proper stadium, Taliban ruling Afghanistan, Singapore has a few grounds.

I wish I could kick and pummel Jay Shah MC. Every team is playing cricket whether SL, Pak, NZ, Eng, SA, Aus and we are stuck with this drama of rain. Kohli and Sharma have hardly player anything. SA, Aus, Eng, NZ play ODIs also shortly. They will come to Ind prepared. Haramkhor TM has fykked Indian cricket.

Ipl, world Cup and Asia cup wete held more during Late spetember and October rather than August/early September. It is hit even at that time there tbh. 

Seems more like a change this time since a lot of tournaments recently have been hosted in uae. 

They should look at alternate venues in S East Asia if they wantore neutral venues going fwd.

A tri series was held in Malaysia back in 2006. Not sure what happened to that

BCCI probably did this to placate the SL board. They have vote of a full member in ICC unlike UAE.

You have to realize that fans like "competitive"  international cricket.

 

However BCCI likes IPL. They tolerate international cricket for the sake of IPL. Like in baseball where Boston Red Sox can play New York Mets for "world series", BCCI would like Mumbai Indians to play CSK for "world championship".

 

Anything that can hurt the IPL like defeats in international cricket are to be minimized. If that entails playing less of it or using doctored pitches so be it.

 

Do you think BCCI will schedule IPL in rainy season? No they pick the driest season for that........

This type of ignorance exists in India because of the jingoistic state controlled media and hateful politics 

the last 2 years all the full strength teams including Eng, Aus, NZ and SA have visited and enjoyed Pak. Only india makes these outrageous claims in a bet to dominate and hurt a much smaller and weaker Neighbour like Pakistan, which is the size of UP state. 
 

India should understand they cannot just “isolate” the wishes of 25M people. Pak is the no1 ODI side. Pak outperformed India in all big tournaments in last 4 years.

If you hire a manager who can never be fired due to nepotism, things will never improve but the media with their censorship will never allow this news to get out.

 

Already 50 over cricket is dying. With this type of mismanagement it will die a much quicker death.

 

I don't even think we may even have a 50 over worldcup in 2028. Even if we do, with such blatant nepotism, it will have the lowest viewership ever.

Pakistan sends terrorists and kills Indians. Do you agree with that ? Then why should india even visit Pakistan when that’s the case.
