Sri Lanka cricket has reached a new low as the 1996 World Cup winners crashed out of ICC World Cup 2023 after a defeat against Bangladesh.

 

The Island Nation have won just two games in eight games and suffered embarrassment against India twice in the past two months. 

 

In the recent World Cup outing against India, Sri Lanka were all out for 55 runs, resulting in a massive 302-run defeat. 

 

In the latest events, a Sri Lankan MP, Wimal Weerawansa, has alleged Mahela Jayawardene of asking skipper Kusal Mendis to bowl first against India on a batting-friendly Wankhede pitch.

 

The MP added that even Rohit Sharma was surprised by Kusal Mendis’s decision. He accused the ICC is ruled by India and the host nation is taking these decisions. 

 

“That day after winning the toss against India, It’s @MahelaJaywho told the Sri Lankan captain to bowl first, Even the Indian Captain was shocked as to why he opted to bowl first, even though they were eager to bat first on that pitch, ICC is ruled by India, and Even Sri Lankan selection committee is appointed by India, there were no opening ceremonies in the tournament, but they held a ceremony in #INDVPAK match. There is something big goin on in Cricket, We have to find out why Mahela advised Kusal Mendis to go for bowl first option.” Here is the video.

 

 

Recently, the Sri Lankan board underwent turmoil as all the members were sacked before the court overruled the decision.

One of the reasons SL cricket is dead is that their cricket board as well as many ex-cricketers are a bunch of jokers who talk non sense even while occupying highly sensitive posts.    Same is the case with Pak too.

 The guy blurting out BS is an MP it seems , so most probably for some political brownie points & nothing else . Does that mean Toss is the sole reason for win /defeat ? One has to play well too to win . Idiots to the core .

So true, I particularly find it very ironic and amusing from the Pakistanis. They would support and hype their team to beat India, and the moment they lose they will be like the match was fixed, ICC=BCCI...yada yada...

 

Like now you were supporting your team, and now you are accusing your own players of being fixers, and back to supporting them in the next match, but aren't these guys fixers as per your logic

Anyway I have zero problems with Adani securing port deals. Issue was stock manipulation and greed.

If padosi (remember even BD ones used to make so much noise about Indian cricket earlier) politicians spent more time on their actual jobs, maybe their economies wouldn't be in the dumps today. 

 

Indian politicians may have 1000 faults but at least don't waste time on trivial stuff like cricket condition of other countries.
