BacktoCricaddict Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 I am ever grateful for his contributions in that one test in the 2020-21 series win. An unheralded newbie who was thrown into the deep end, he bowled well, picked up some crucial wickets in the first innings, didn't let the moment get too big and made a solid contribution to a historic win!! He has always shown great poise and character - it is not easy bowling consistently in the death overs - and deserves everything good that comes his way. It is great to see that he has recovered well from whatever injuries were plaguing him over the past couple of years. He has a few years left in him and whether or not he gets another crack at an India call-up, will always remember his contributions fondly. tweaker, Vijy, sorak and 6 others 9
vvvslaxman Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Yea.. i thought he was gone for good like L balaji who suffered the same stress fracture. He even touched close to 140k
singhvivek141 Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Nattu is a likeable guy...and for some reason I have the soft corner for those who fought and beat Australia in Australia. Had he been 4-5 years younger, it would have made more sense to include him in T20's over Arshdeep who is in worst form of his life. Mariyam, Forever Indian, Vijy and 4 others 7
Sgattick10 Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Always liked Nattu. Never scared to bowl a yorker. singhvivek141 and JaFanatic 2
Adamant Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Should have taken him instead of Avesh in the standy squad, actually he is a better t20 bowler than both Siraj and Arshdeep JaFanatic, Forever Indian, velu and 3 others 2 4
zaqw222222 Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Like India used Nehra in his late years, India team can use Natarajan as a specialist T20 bowler JaFanatic, Vijy, velu and 1 other 4
Lord Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 for T20 bowling temperament matters as much as skill if not more. Specially death bowling. He is great in that. Should have been selected over Arshdeep and Harshit over Siraj AuxiliA and BacktoCricaddict 2

Vijy Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 I wish he was in the 15-member squad. a better bet than avesh, siraj, arshdeep in t20s Lord and Ultimate_Game 2

Gollum Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 (edited) He is already 33, regained fitness/form/confidence, 2nd best Indian pacer behind Bumrah this season. What are selectors waiting for? For him to turn 37 and bowl 120 kph knuckleballs and wide outside off BS? Edited May 5, 2024 by Gollum
maniac Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Wishing Nattu a great IPL career and a lot of money but sorry not for Indian team. we need a fitness and skill criteria to play for Indian team. Nattu is not fit for international standards and can’t field or bat. dont want this to be a bummer on an appreciation thread but dont want him in international side. He has utility in IPL. Good guy, good player but even though no one cares, personally he doesn’t fit in my vision of Indian side
vvvslaxman Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 II don't think he will be backed given his age. Happy for him though. Hope he has a decent career with SRH. India is likely to stick with bowlers in their 20s. Arshdeep. But Siraj is not a T20 bowler. NOt sure when they are going to realize.

I don't think he will do any worse than Arshdeep at any point , especially on Caribbean pitches Nathan Ellis is not a bowler with a high ceiling either but OZ have picked him .

coffee_rules Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Kind of cynical, he is a trundler, good for T20. But with new talent like Mayank, we need to move on, for national colors
