I agree Root technique is flawless unlike Cook,

 

I really hope he does break 51 100s , IMO he played tougher bowlers than Sachin.

That's why they shoud have negated Starc. He was the only real threat. Brooke slog was pathetic. Had he stayed,Eng would have closed at 400+

No Sachin has played better bowlers like McGrath, Ambrose,Walsh, Akram, Waqar Younis, Donald, Pollock etc.

Uhh he made half his runs after these bowlers retired. His career spanned 3 decades and he has seen plenty of easy series and tough series

Nitish Reddy has a good record against him to be fair becaues he attacked him.

DRS probably would have helped Sachin the batsman more. ONe of the very few batsmen who suffered because of umpires more than bowlers.

Sachin also missed scoring more runs during his peak years as India played very less tests in the 90s.

Neser. Dogett and Boland ... all 3 were medium pacers to start with ... never had pace.

 

Question is, why have the Aussies not developed any quicks after their big 3 and are playing 35 year old trundlers as newbies !

Their upcoming quicks are all injury prone. Lance Morris, Jhye richardson.

 

Starc-Cummins-Hazel-Lyon is their second golden period after Mcg-Warne-Lee. In between these two, it was kind of mid and looks like it will be mid again

Johnson, Harris, Clarke, Tait, Siddle were decent too after McGrath, Gillespie, Lee, Bichel, Fleming, Kasper.

 

Jhye isn't that quick either. Was hoping they would try Morris.

First time Aussies seem to be in a crisis mode when it comes to quicks. 

 

Even in early-mid 2010s they had Ryan Harris (GOAT tier when fit), Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Stuart Clarke.

From 2008 to around 2012-13 they had some pretty avg attacks. Johnson wasn't the menacing bowler he was before 2013 Ashes and guys like Hilfenhaus were either jokes or middling at best.

 Saf must be kicking themselves to have lost 2 home series to those Aus teams in that period when they were much strnger. They made a hero out of Andrew McDonald in one series lol.
