Agree on 10 out of 11, but think Dhoni will play another spinner in place of a seamer as Hardik is also a pacer. No way Dhoni is playing 4 pacers that too in India. So will probably be Mishra in place of Yadav or Kulkarni.

Agree on 10 out of 11, but think Dhoni will play another spinner in place of a seamer as Hardik is also a pacer. No way Dhoni is playing 4 pacers that too in India. So will probably be Mishra in place of Yadav or Kulkarni.

I like Yadav's bowling but he is not the right fit for the ODI team right now. Yadav is a good test match bowler and he should stick to that format. Dhawal should play ahead of Yadav.

This is very close to the squad I was hoping for - i wish Chahal had been in instead of Mishra, and Nair in for Raina ... otherwise good squad

 

Im glad Jadeja is rested, he is bolwing a lot and will be in tests to come. The test series is far more important than the bilaterals vs NZ

It's good Jadeja is rested because now he can't start bowling down the leg side in ODIS. He will keep his test cricket rhythm intact.

SRan is injured and out for sometime now. He had a stress fracture

He had a decent list A tour in Aus and top scorer in the last Vijay Hazare trophy, so hopefully can keep that going.

Another good thing about the selection that they are looking to address lower order fire power issue. Top order looks Packed with right players.

 

Kedhar, mandeep, raina, pandya are step in right direction . Even though m not sure would they be right horses but atleast its a start. 

Not only they need to give that firepower but add more to the table like fielding or few overs may be. Jadhav fails as a fielder but i have some hopes from mandeep but he has the same issue of Raina short pitch bowling.

 

I hope sarfraz matures n improves his fitness soon , him at 6 n pandya at 7 could be a real asset . Would like to look at hooda n Krunal to in coming time

I like Aaron n i dnt rate dhawal as international bowler at all , yet ill play dhawal over him. Biggest of Aaron fan's would avoid him in Odi. He leaks runs like anything which anyone could any day but he has no control. 

Even Virat makes Aaron sit on bench fore more than half a season every year in IPL

Aaron is too wayward to play in ODIs.. I would play him in Tests though... coz he can get away with some bad balls if he bowls a couple of beauties and gets wickets.

so I see the onus on captain Kooli and not captain Dhoni..

Overall good selection ,keeping the long test season in mind.Only selectors could have choosen Kuldeep /Chahal in place of Mishra & Mayank/Karun in place of Raina.
