[Video] Indian fans taunt Md Amir during India Pakistan match at Edgbaston

While it's not uncommon for fans to give a tough time to opposition players fielding near boundary line, but what Md Amit had to bear during India Pakistan match at Edgbaston was brutal.

 

 

In the video captured by @Rajiv, a section of Indian fans can be seen chanting "Kaidi no 5" referring to his prison time in England after spot fixing in England Pakistan test series and his jersey no 5.

 

It must have been difficult time for Md Amir who made comeback to international cricket last year after a ban of 5 years by ICC.

Nice sledging. This is mild stuff, hardly brutal. This guy committed a crime, and now he has to live with it. A 17 year old isn't too naive to not know the consequences of their actions. Worse things are probably said to our own players during IPL matches. Remember when Kohli called out the Mumbai crowd for abusing him.

I will say doing this once was alright. But if they repeat this again and again in other venues, that's when it will start being really bad!!!

Go to a football match and listen to the chants, swearing and abuse. This is a nursery rhyme compared to that.

 

Fixer got away lightly considering his background and he was never "17" when caught anyway.

IMO it was below the belt and didn't even have the saving grace of being witty.   But I wouldn't go so far as to call it a disgrace to Indian fans etc.

 

I have heard live and in the stadium what a few ghatiya fans in Delhi said to Wasim Akram many years ago, and that was brutal, obscene and disgraceful. This is just a silly chant.

Lucky to be still playing, 17 or not, We had a 17 year old rapist in our country who walked scott free, Enough of undermining criminal activities at the pretext of age, selling the pride of your country, bring on national humiliation to everyone, and then to expect that Indian Crowd will not bully you for it in an India Pakistan encounter, you are being plain Ignorant, I think these British Indians were subtle did not cross limits by any stretch of imagination, had this been Mumbai, Amir would have asked his captain to make him a wicket keeper for a day.
