if you want the team to improve, keep this guy and sehwag away from any coaching job. If the boys had problem with kumble imagine Shahstri who is a hard headed big talker, will not go down well with the boys.

Someone should watch movie Azhar to get an image of Shahstri. This guys is just BS talker and nothing more.

that movie itself is BS. Someone making a movie on a traitor is itself BS and then some people watch it.

That movie itself was BS, a lame attempt at trying to salvage the reputation of a serial match fixer. Not an ounce of honesty there.

DO you really think Shastri, Kumble, Sehwag , Tom Moody etc can teach anything to these players that they don't already know ?

The role of a Coach in Cricket is overrated. Captain has the biggest role to play unlike any other sport.

What the coach can do is strategize . And Shastri is the best for that among the lot even when he is drunk.

We have seen enough strategy of Shashtri to drop Dhawan for Rahane in semi final against WI in T20 WC2016. Rahane ended up playing a match losing innings.

That was because Shastri the coach and Kohli the captain wanted 'caution' at the start of the T20 innings. You can see similar caution in the way we start an ODI innings. However, Shastri the coach and Kohli the captain wanted Pujara to score at aggressive 100 SR in test matches. These two pioneers wanted to take cricket into a new dimension. We need to appreciate it.

Dhawan was struggling and both him and Rahane are poor T20 players. It would not have made a difference whoever of the two played.

Whats so harm having Shastri? Why is he considered that bad? Its not that he was disastrous for us when he was there. He wasn't bad at all.

What does he have to offer? Is he tactically brilliant?.Is he powerful enough to make selection desicions? Does he have a great technique to help batsmen, bowlers etc?

Only thing conclusive is he is a yes man. When has ever in the history of the world a Yes man has been beneficial?

Same can be said for many coaches who have coached for different countries.

I am not Ravi Shastri fan, but I don't think he will be a simple "yes captain, sure" kind of guy. He will surelygive his inputs on selections and makenit happen.

Also, team might feel good under him. At the end of the day, we want players to be playing without under pressure. Thisnis what was happening in John Wright's tenure and Kiesten's tenure. If players can play without pressure and jell well under Shastri, then I am fine.

Though my first choice would be Tom Moody like I have said but I really don't care who becomes at this time.
