But hope to see Shami do well as if he does Ind will have great chance to do very well. Link to comment

I believe there is a decent consensus in world cricket that a 5fer and ton are worth the same. Not really. Maximum of 2 bowlers can take 5-fers in an innings, but many batsmen could score 100s. I feel a wicket is more valuable. Look at overall batting & bowling averages and general consensus would be that a wicket is more valuable than 20 runs. sandeep 1 Link to comment

It's really easy but fun as the series goes on. For the upcoming 3 test series versus RSA, pick three Indian players for each test. Specify which player is your batsman, bowler, and fielding option. 1 RUN = 1 pt 1 WICKET = 20 pts 1 CATCH = 25 pts 1 RUN OUT (ANY CATEGORY) = 30 pts (RUNOUT AS PER CRICINFO SCORECARD) For example for 1st test I might choose: Batsman - Kohls Bowler - Shami Fielder - Saha In above example, only Kohl's' runs will count not his catches, only Saha's catches will count not his runs, you get the idea. You cannot have the same players in same category for following tests. In the next test you can't pick Kohli again as a batsman but you could pick him as a fielder. You could go crazy for example and pick Shami for all three options in the 1st test. If he effects a run out that would get you additional 90 pts. Submit your 3 players for the first test now using above format (changes allowed up until 10 min after toss i.e 20 min before 1st ball). If you will not be around at toss time leave some 2nd choices for borderline picks e.g. 'Umesh or if not picked then Bumrah' how can a catch get you 25 points for a fielder but the hard working bowler gets 20 points for 1 wicket....wicket should mean 25 points and run out should also be 25 points as catching , fielding and taking wickets should be equal. taking 4 wickets is as good as making a century and 5 will mean scoring 125 runs... vishalvirsingh
there are some doubts in the rules and i suggest we correct the rules and finalise like a catch, run out and wicket should be equal to 25 points each. Link to comment
goose
the popular opinion seems to think a wicket is worth a bit more than 20 pts. new rules as follows (also amended in OP) : 1 RUN - 1 pt 1 WICKET - 25 pts 1 CATCH - 25 pts 1 RUN-OUT - 25 pts Note, as before, player in any category can score 25 pts for effecting a run-out.
