As the title suggests, the thread is for positive / sporting comments, appreciating good cricket 

 

Will start with the man of the test so far, Pandya. Brilliant innings. After Sehwag's departure, I stopped watching tests but this guy could bring the interest back 

 

In the SA 2nd inning, some confident shots by Markham, decent pace from Bumrah

Extraordinary knock by Pandya. I was dreading a Durban 1996 redux but the 2nd session turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Rabada will be the best Test bowler in the world within a couple of years. Markram is a serious tailunt.

Pandya was brilliant along with Bhuvi who gave him good hand in helping India cross 200.

 

Pandya-Bhuvi p’ship really irritated th heck out of Rabada and Morkel, and you could see Steyn being mad here and there.

 

Pandya’s knock was brilliant.

pandya's innings was reminiscent of mehmood's effort in 1998,i thought he could have trusted shami bit more instead of going for everything after bhuvi's wicket

after a long time sas have got proper spinner in Maharaj,he was impressive in his short spell

Bhuvi looks a classy player when he plays cover drives ,played a good innings

SA effectively 115/0 .... Great position to be in esp with batting expected to get relatively easy on Day 3. If they play sensibly, could easily add 300 more runs, effectively be at 400+, tomorrow 

 

With 13 overs remaining, Ind could consider bringing Ashwin in for 3-5 overs to pick up wkts

I guess India should try short ball strategy if pitch competely flattens out. There is good bounce available and 1 spell of good short bowling can bring required breakthrough.

But how can we stay positive, when captain kohli drops two batters Rahul, rahane both having textbook technique perfectly suited for the format and one even averages 70 in sa to accommodate hack like dhawan??

Yes. But it has to be a well planned effort. Against the run of play, Pandya (golden arm?) picks up Markham, who was looking dangerous in the middle

Some dhoni chamchas like that "taklya" are getting desperate, but chill as much as i love captain kohli I have had criticized kohli captaincy for like thousand times on many occasions like  when he dropped umesh and shami who both averages 20 vs Pakistan on fast and bouncy track in CT final  for ashwin who averages 37 against the same team, batting second in it, sacking  Kumble( guy who I have deep respect right from his playing days) as a coach etc.

2nd Test .... Kohli’s inning has kept Ind in the series. Now if we can cut down the self inflicted damages, we can put pressure on SA, which is known for you know what

Kohli the batsman is the most consistent since the Dravid/Tendulkar days! Leading the batting from the front, somewhat compensates his gaffes in selection and captaincy matters.

As deflating as the ABDV-Elgar partnership was, the match isn't over as yet. If we get 2-3 early wickets tomorrow, inki g**nd phat jaayegi.

Regardless of how many catches he drops those 5 extra runs Parthiv scored than normal+ a couple of attractive looking cut shots in the 2nd innings will be the deciding factor in the end when we win the game-in terms of positivity  beat that!!!
