King Tendulkar
I reallly like patel at 3 . Can see him scoring runs . Loves ball coming on as little man no power lol plays more square of the wicket. Perfect Spinnng tracks and slower tracks struggles a bit Link to comment

Gollum
Ashwin shouldn't be dropped, he is a more reliable batsman than Dhawan, Kohli and Rohit if there is lateral movement. Link to comment
Gollum
Boria correctly predicted that Rohit would play in stead of Rahane in Cape Town and that we would play 5 bowlers including Pandya....surely he is not merely speculating here....we are so screwed if we go with 3 quicks + Pandya. Dhawan and Rohit combined scored as much as Ashwin in 1st test, so as per Kohli logic even Ashwin the batsman is equal to those 2 with his bowling being a bonus. So what will be his next justification after we are 0-2 down next week? Edited January 11, 2018 by Gollum Jimmy Cliff 1 Link to comment
cowboysfan
It's the right decision under the circumstances.we rarely win away from home when our openers can't handle the new ball.if we stabilise the batting then we can think of playing Ashwin and the pitch looks like the match won't last 4 days. This means pandya will be our 4th main bowler and their is no 5th bowler ..... Also does that mean they ll stick with rohit n dhawan Edited January 11, 2018 by Ankit_sharma03 Link to comment
cric_fan
Tbh, Ashwin’s bowling is useless in these conditions as he as a rank turners specialist. Arm the team with fast bowlers and hope for your batters to click. King Tendulkar and speedheat 1 1 Link to comment

If you are mediocre player doesnt require to show the same mediocrity as an analyst or commie. Let me guess without clicking on the link. Must be that tool Chopra. vvvslaxman
Dhawan must go. Rahul has to be in. Rohit is clueless as well. I agree Ashwin as a bowler will have very little to offer on surfaces like this. Murali vijay can bowl few offies. Link to comment
mancalledsting
ashwin helped mop up the tail in the first test. You need variety in your attack. As he is used sparingly by Kohli he has that mystery bowler aura about him currently. express bowling, Gollum, The Dark Horse and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Moreover he is better than Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli with the bat on such decks. Link to comment
