I meant more on the basis of their performance over the last year+ (since this squad came together). They owned every team they faced in their preparation for this WC (and then again in the tournament).

Oh ok. I haven't followed them for that long.

Hope this success doesn't get to their heads. This is just the start. Hope atleast 5 kids from this team make it to the national team in future.
Gill
Shaw
Kalra
Sharma
Mavi
Koti
Desai
Rana
Porel
Chahar (though not with squad)
Have high hopes from them

After losing to teams like Nepal, BD in the Asia  cup last year , the team , at least the bowling team was rebuilt. Kalra, Abhishek were in the losing team in yhat Asia cup. Amazing feat to dominate every team like this. Kudos to the players and the team management.

Had we not lost to Windies in 2016, we would have won 3 tournaments in a row! Well done BCCI, as least some money must be going into coaching and development.

U19 WC happens every two years.

Young India is ruthless:yess:

Young India - i.e the team with the most experience, training, and player talent pool - found a way to win.  Let's not give out the PadmaBhushan and PadmaShris just yet.

That is true for India everytime we go to the WC but dont win everytime isnt it?

Dravid is already padma bhushan...he deserves padma vibhushan IMO if sachin can be bharat ratna.

No arguments on Dravid, I meant the players.

And yes, anything less than a finals appearance for India, should be viewed as a disappointment - and not just for u19.   I mean, there are so few countries who play cricket at a high level.  Even ODI or test cricket, realistically there are only 4, at most 5 teams that are really quality.  Making a WC semi-final is really not an "achievement" at this point for any of those top 4 teams.  Especially India.

Team really looked a class apart. Some of the u-19 WC players from a few years back are still waiting for a consistent run with the team so don't think we will see these players donning the blue any time soon. Hope they keep working hard and it's great to see talent flowing.
