The word "FAR" used by Ravi Shastri should have dual implications, the bowling attack and the top order is certainly "FAR" from ready, but the middle order is also "FAR" from being ready. The only difference being the former being on the positive side and the latter being on the negative side.

We have this issue since ages...Top order clicking and lower failing time and again to score quick 70-80 in last 10 overs .With Dhoni fading as a finisher this problem is bigger than it was back in 2011 world cup .

You think Shastri and kohli don’t know dhoni is useless now ? You think they don’t want him dropped and get new guy in right now and get him ready for World Cup ?

 

they can’t drop him . Bigger forces at work tieing their hands . That’s the sad reality of indian cricket sometimes , getting best results not always priority in murky world of bcci

yeah the problem is a lot more noticeable since Dhoni lost that finishing ability and Yuvi left the side.

I still think we need someone like Dhoni in the team to stop the middle order from completely falling apart but we are desperately missing finishers and we need to find the solution before the WC.

If our top 3 fail, we need someone in midfield that we can rely on to get us those runs.

Yeah he can play but will score something like 60(122) with a not out of course.

This.He still trusts Dhoni a lot and Dhoni's street-smart brain is one reason behind the success of our spinners.Also his wicket keeping skills are still one of the best in the world.Hope he retires soon after the world cup and move away for ypungsters.But selectors could atleast blood the likes of Samson in T20.
