Dobby at no. 4 will be nothing but a disaster. At no. 6/7 he can waste 30 balls at max. At no. 4 he will waste half the overs. Only his blind chamchas can't see that he is on his last legs and believe in his PR driven superman hype that he will be answer to no. 4 problem. Nothing easier than barking out a few tough words while the going is good and there is no scrutiny in the media. His nuts will drop when it comes to actually confronting the MS Dhoni problem. he might time that one too. I have some trust in him now, may be after that Dhoni 10K runs. Lets see. But then he already has made Ganguly an enemy will he risk making one out of an other powerful ex captain remains to be seen. madhusudansarkar 1
Prateek3801 Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) The word "FAR" used by Ravi Shastri should have dual implications, the bowling attack and the top order is certainly "FAR" from ready, but the middle order is also "FAR" from being ready. The only difference being the former being on the positive side and the latter being on the negative side. Edited February 17, 2018 by Prateek3801
Stuge Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) We have this issue since ages...Top order clicking and lower failing time and again to score quick 70-80 in last 10 overs .With Dhoni fading as a finisher this problem is bigger than it was back in 2011 world cup . You think Shastri and kohli don’t know dhoni is useless now ? You think they don’t want him dropped and get new guy in right now and get him ready for World Cup ? they can’t drop him . Bigger forces at work tieing their hands . That’s the sad reality of indian cricket sometimes , getting best results not always priority in murky world of bcci jj_28 1

I still think we need someone like Dhoni in the team to stop the middle order from completely falling apart but we are desperately missing finishers and we need to find the solution before the WC. If our top 3 fail, we need someone in midfield that we can rely on to get us those runs.
diga Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 the question is, can Dhoni play at #4 in England with the ball still swinging? He will be 37 yrs old during world cup
NameGoesHere Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Quote "We Are Far From Ready for The World Cup" - Ravi Shastri Poys and girls of ICF, I'm starting a collection, please contribute generously. Whatever the drunkard is currently drinking, we desperately need to keep him stocked with ample supplies of the same.

They need to get used to batting in those situations at those numbers when they have to just start hitting from get go. yes i concede your point, fortunately our top 3 have been taking care of business 90% of the time. You can bring in whomever you want they need some time in middle to score when time comes.

This.He still trusts Dhoni a lot and Dhoni's street-smart brain is one reason behind the success of our spinners. Also his wicket keeping skills are still one of the best in the world.Hope he retires soon after the world cup and move away for ypungsters. But selectors could atleast blood the likes of Samson in T20.
