Hes like pandya. Gets wickets/runs when the match is either lost or out of reach. When we need wickets, hes nowhere to be found.

Waiting for : Ishant is a much improved bowler now. He had a 5fer last match. He bowled well but was unlucky. Ishant is a work horse.(and you know Shastri says horses for courses )

If we want to be a strong bowling attack ... we need to consider wicket taking ability,  over the long term, while choosing bowlers.

 

Ishant is not a wicket taker ... with a career average around 35.

He is #3 bowler, when you ask him to lead the attack, he fails every time.

Very true.

 

Ishant can only play as a 3rd pacer who is a workhorse fast bowler who will fill in the overs.  He is not a wicket taker ... never has been ... shame on those cricket minds who choose him as such.

This guy was a disaster in 2011 England Tour, he is the only one still playing from that humiliating tour...7 years on and still being useless 

 

selectors are saying in last 7 years they couldnt find a bowler to replace him...Ishant’s height has been a career saver for him

He is rejuvenated and inspired as per everyone in last couple of years under aggressive pacer's captain/coach management. Him and Yadav both will be played for atleast 5 more years, they are the spearheads of our team.
