Yup i wish Siraj was picked, Either for umesh or shardul

Shardul- wud be unfair to drop someone without a chance but still he is avg

Prithvi and Vihari are great picks. Great to see domestics and India A performances being rewarded

 

Vijay and Kuldeep dropped I think. Two batsmen picked for a bowler and batsman? We have a extra bat, probably to give him a feel of the conditions. Don’t think either of them will be in the XI for the fourth test.

The fuq, why didn't they select Siraj. Both Shami and Umesh are too inconsistent to depend on them in the must win games. I thought Agarwal was ahead of Shaw in the pecking order. The sooner these selectors leave, better it is for Indian cricket.

What's the point of Vihari when Nair is there? Why did they select Nair in the first place then?

Refreshing to see shaw n hanuma selected, now shaw should get a go in playing 11 in place of dhawan.

They could have done it right from test 1 by having him along with Nair. Shaw is in since Vijay is out. Makes sense here but not with Vihari though!

   Its about  a firm direction selection team is taking.  Its a cue that couple of young ones will be tried including nair and couple of oldies will be discarded. That is good sign.

 So ina 15 -16 member team ,

 you have 3 new guys in batting - Shaw, Vihari , Pant 

One  young spinner -  Kuldeep.

Most needed -  couple of new pacers  - Siraj & rajpoot .

I think Siraj will come in  within 3 months ..

What more does Siraj needs to do to get selected? He should have been selected instead of Shardul. Kuldeep should not have been dropped. Its good to have wrist spinning option. Will Ashwin recover by next match?
