The current Indian selection committe.

M. S. K. Prasad (Chairman) Played 6 test matches and 17 ODIs

Devang Gandhi Played 4 test matches and 3 ODIs

Sarandeep Singh played 3 test matches and 5 ODIs

Jatin Paranjpe Played 0 test matches and 4 ODIs

Gagan Khoda Played 0 test matches and 2 ODIs

Not very impressive, but if us novices can see the obvious problems, why can't they ? Its not like any of us played duleep trophy. This goes for many experienced players and commentators who come up with silly ideas like Rohit for tests abroad and Rahane for Odis.

There has to be some other forces at play which we're not privy to, such obvious idiocy can't be happening all the time.

Wondering how did we got so bad. If I recall, our selectors are very prompt in removing likes of Ganguly,VVS, Sehwag, Gambhir etc in the past for youngsters. But now we are just going backwards.

We had people with prestige and stature as selectors back then Vengsarka, More etc.

Ab aise aise l*nd fakeer selector bante hain jinke gharwale bhi nahi jaante ki ye kabhi cricketer the.

D Vengsarkar, Mohinder Amarnath or Jatin Paranjape

Who do you think will be brave enough to take tough calls such as axing Dhoni from T20s or sending a team of young players for an ODI tournament ?

The players with better credentials as cricketer will be in better position to make a brave choice than novices who would rather play safe.

They have tall left arm genuinely fast shaheen shah afridi, kid is one of the brightest  emerging  young talent in internationals with endless potential, don't know if he is selected or not but if he plays along with amir and hassan our middle over uncles will be doomed.

One thing is sure, Shaheen Afridi's career will take off from here as he will feast on the 'brittliest 'middle order in the world..The generous gentlemen, the fake ipl heroes, you just name them, they will gift their wickets to this kid and give him the needed confidence to announce his arrival..

Not sure about his international career, he has to prove himself. So far he only performed against some local players in PSL.

Kedar Jadhav's overall figures may look good ... but he has been poor against the big teams barring one series against England.

Plus he is a poor fielder.

Agree, highly likely that the accomplished players turned selectors had a spine besides ethics rather than be yes men.

Edit: I just found the following thread and it seems even Vengsarkar can be a weirdo :hmmmm:
