Don’t know what got in his ears but his approach was timid in the odi’s Against Aus. He was either thinking too much or not thinking at all. Played softly many a times and basically looked a deer in front of headlights. I remember his innings against Eng in first T20 when Ind toured Eng in which he won us the game single handedly. Where did that approach go ?

May be he will find his striking form in Eng.

Rahane, Rayudu, Pandey, Yuvraj, Raina have played cumulative >100 matches at #4 in the same time frame and none of them are in the squad.

The no 4 slot is going to be crucial for India. 

I don’t think Rahul fits anywhere in the middle order. At worst he can play number 3, otherwise he should only open.

 

wrong day to say this but Sharma jee has wrongfully taken up a spot as opener. Either of Rahane or Rahul should be there

So much for Rayudu being propped as #4 for WC a year ago. They could have prepared KLR for the role with a longer rope and built his confidence. Now they start WC with KLR. He looks like a mental midget. They think #4 is not critical. But, we have Dhoni coming next, who is not reliable anymore. Vijay Shankar can't make #4 , may be in some Kali Maa tournaments , but not in WC. The selection team messed up big time

After looking at his dismissal. I dont think he should play anymore for India for an experienced player like it was a bad dismissal.

back up opener is the reason he is in WC squad.

Lack of good no 4 takes him into playing 11
