Probably, the team management thinks that Pant's confidence would be down due to his string of consistent failures in the other 2 formats.    I don't subscribe to team management's decision.  But then, this decision does not look weird either. Other than Cummins rest all Sena bowlers are green track bullies and they are not criticized as much as Ashwin or Jadega for their overseas performance...Videshi bowlers just goes under radar in the pretext that these are slow dust bowl.

You are right and good that pant got break...but don't think kohli shatri have that level of mental accumen to justify pant exclusion.

Hahahaha...it was obvious before the series started that pitches would be tailor made to suit Rohit's style of batting so that he can cement his spot as an opener. Everyone is willing to do anything to accomodate him in the team.

Agree. An average Indian fan don't care whether a player is suited for a format or not. All they care is whether the Rohits and Dhonis are playing for India and they'll fill the stadiums . That's also one of the main reasons why Dhoni isn't still shown the door by TM. No matter how bad he has become , he still has a huge appeal and pulls crowds.

Sort of relieved that it is NZL & not  ENG  in  line  in the next round of SENA series abroad. If it were entirely up to BCCI they would hold summer matches in Thar desert, winter matches in Dharmasala and rest of the year in Cherrapunji.
