Gollum
2000s team often had these back against the wall performances, where we would win despite the odds... 2001 Eden, 2003 Adelaide, 2006 Jo'berg, 2008 WACA/Chennai, 2010 Mohali/PSara/Kolkata/Durban This team either is in control or loses tamely, not much clutchness and/or fightback that takes us all by surprise. 2015 series win in Lanka after Galle robbery/choke was special..may not have been an ATG achievement but coming from a young side led by a young skipper after Dhoni's torture years, that was kinda unexpected in a cool way. For many of us it revived our interest in Indian test team. 2017 Bengaluru test....ATG comeback, even the Dharamsala victory felt special because of the conditions and their toss win, start..but we controlled majority of that match These are the only two I can think of in Kohli era, 2015-now. Agree this thread is more of a batting thingy and 2000s team was a better batting unit. But we are outgunned by other teams in this area in recent times. This and our appalling 4th innings record all but confirm that current Indian batsmen have taken mental midgetry to another level. PS- 2018 Jo'berg win->dead rubber, little stakes 2018 Trent Bridge-> Poms put us to bat, big blunder, we were in control throughout Aus away series victory->historic but we dominated Edited February 23, 2020 by Gollum sandeep 1 Link to comment
Gollum
Good in a way that we don't get to see precarious situations at home that often, we are so dominant. But in SENA can't do well without some spine. Today was a perfect opportunity and our batsmen blew it, on a concrete slab that would put Rajkot/Vadodara curators to shame. Look at our approach, mode of dismissals against 'nothing' bowling. Edited February 23, 2020 by Gollum Link to comment
Vilander
If they play morning session exactly like this Vihari and Rahane. Nz will raise white flag and they will be there for the taking after that. Nz are a weak team once india shows some fight they will act all cuddly hobbits from shire. Adamant 1 Link to comment
nitinbwj
Problem is they are dead blocking. They need to score atleast 3rpo tomorrow if India are you take a small amount of lead. nevada 1 Link to comment

Well for the last test vs Oz at home, Rahane was in charge whilst Kohli was doing jack in the series both as a captain & batter! The second test was also won on the back of KL, Pujara, Jadeja, Rahane, Ashwin but he was the captain & we were batting first, in that sense not a surprise or back to the wall win IMO. You haven’t watched this NZ side much have you. Only team less likely to raise a white flag is Aus kirkutfan and zen 2 Link to comment
nevada
I was pleasantly surprised by this team winning the first 3 matches in the 2019 WC against potentially tough opponents. sergio04, Norman and sandeep 3 Link to comment

After the Pune massacre when they took 80 runs lead in Bengaluru and our batsmen looked like scared kittens, nervous times. Rahul 50, Pujara-Rahane ATG partnership, Ashwin 6fer to defend 180 odd. That was a brilliant comeback. Come on, most of us thought it would be 2-0 Aus. Cricwala 1 Link to comment

Gollum
Another glorious opportunity wasted. Flat pitch, lots of time, nothing extraordinary in the bowling, forget VVS/Dravid, none of these guys could even do a Gambhir who lacked talent but had a bigger heart and much bigger cojones. MechEng
Fast bowling. From the days of bored bowlers to Umesh Yadav/ Shami/ Ishant/ Bumrah trying to send stumps flying like Pakistani bowlers. Edited February 24, 2020 by MechEng Link to comment

Turning_track
2015 WC when they won all matches till semis & 2013 CT when our team won the trophy thanks to English brainless chase in the final. In tests, loved Indian fightback in Bengaluru, Dharmasala tests against Aus & Chennai test win over Poms. India's performance in Sydney test against Aus was superb as well, wish the last day wasn't washed out. Link to comment

sarcastic
@Gollum Add today's match to one of your instances. One of the greatest comebacks from a certain whitewash to a series squaring victory! Please take your hats off to Kohli & his henchmen (read fast bowlers)!!! Link to comment
