  1. Butler at opening is proving out to be massive advantage for them as for RR
  2. Roy will come back
  3. Malan consistency at 3 + s/r is brilliant
  4. Stokes i feel shud bat at 4 or else he is wasted in t20
  5. then there is morgan
  6. Hang on there is also banton and moeen ali who wud be needed for his batting against spin in India next year

Now where do u fit someone of the quality of Bairstrow...at 4 ?? which means pushing stokes down and wasting him

This is scary batting line up! Can't fit both butler and Roy at start. Johnny is amazing opener.

but butler is proving out to be best at top

At opening

Bairstrow

avg - 22

s/r- 146

Butler

Avg- 51

s/r- 157

with those numbers butler owns that place

Also stokes at 6 in t20 is complete waste , batting low has impacted his t20 numbers .

Bairstow is a top player of spin. Come the wt20 he would be much more useful so should be persisted with. Banton and Malan can be rotated as per form/ requirement.

For India, Dhawan should be kicked out of t20s. We need to find a slot for Shaw rather.

I feel Bairstow is at his best when he is under pressure or when England really needs to turn it on. He HAS to open for them. Buttler is to good a batsman to waste down the order and HAS to open as well. This will be my line up -

Buttler

Bairstow

Roy

Stokes

Morgan

Malan

Ali

Woakes

Rashid

Archer

Wood

First world problems. :phehe:

Came to post exactly that.

What England has rich man’s problem-

too much money not to sure how to spend

What India has middle class problem- might be able to afford to take a minor risk and upgrade to a car from an old scooter (Dhawan) but stuck in a mindset of “should save for daughters wedding”, “sons education” etc

What Pakistan and some other countries have is poor man’s problem- don’t care about anything, cornered (apt term) so throw anything and everything and see what sticks like giving every u-23 (u-19 for the rest of us )A chance and seeing where it goes.

There are some players who play at their own strike rate irrespective of the necessary above par score/ required rate / pitch conditons etc.. Dhawan, Rahane types...these guys should not be picked at any cost..

Make him open and  give him license to play like naraine.

Why wud ask a proper batsman to bat like narine who is at best a good pinch hitter. Bairstrow ability is of 100s and narine of 20-30s

Lol Dhawan...  He should not be picked in T20Is...  Played two T20 WC's in 2014 & 2016..  Failed massively. Lol Rahane was opening in SF vs WI I guess.

Rahul & Rohit is the way.  Rahul probably best T20I batter in team currently.  His consistency & SR are unmatched in team.

Bairstow can come in at 3 for Eng..  Leave Malan as good as he is..  Still not destructive as Bairstow.

Need to give guys who have done well in IPL a long consistent run out in T20Is:  Surya Kumar, Nitish Rana, Samson, Shreyas Gopal,  Rajpoot, Dinesh K

And then there are guys like Billings, Philip salt, Liam Livingstone etc who will comfortably get into any non-top 4 teams. :afraid:

Edit : Yup and then there is Alex Hales too.
